Private guitar lessons are the best way to ensure that your or your child will get the optimal tips to become an excellent musician! I teach my students everything from basic music reading to advanced classical guitar technique, which allows my students to build the skills needed to grow as a guitarist and as a musician. When I started private lessons, my teacher was a firm believer that a musician should learn how to read music, and I also agree. A musician's greatest asset is their ability to learn and to grow not only as a musician but as a person as well. Private lessons give a student the focused attention you wouldn't normally get in a class full of students. I focus on detail and making sure that my students know how to properly hold and play a guitar. Without this guidance, it's easy to pickup bad habits that are much harder to get rid of once learned. My teaching style incorporates the dexterity of both hands in order to play fingerstyle and classical guitar. If you hear on popular radio, most guitarists like Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran strum the strings, but fingerstyle allows for a guitarist to finger pick and use arpeggios to make the music more colorful. Most guitarists are "strummers" and what I teach takes guitar a step up from that, which makes you stand out from the millions of guitar players in the world. Private instruction acts as a catalyst for the growing musician, and I pride myself on my investment for each of my student's growth.
