Foundation is EVERYTHING!!! πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘
One of the first things I teach my students is this warmup my teacher taught me which helps train the fingers to stretch and bend the proper way as well as using "I-M" fingerings on the right hand! A solid start is a solid student and technique is never something to ignore, especially when beginning. LIKE if you agree!!!

Talent creds to my awesome 10 year old student Kanoe, who's been with me for almost two years and currently working on Matteo Carcassi Studies 😎

Hello! Welcome to my new page for Alcala Guitar Studios! Here's a quick bio about me:

My name is Bianca Alcala, I was born and raised in the Philippines until my parents moved our family to the States. I struggled with making friends since I was shy and my parents decided to put me and my sister in guitar lessons to help me break out of my shell. Since then, I've been studying guitar for over ten years and I've personally seen how music can help a kid branch out and feel more confident! My guitar teacher taught me how to play fingerstyle guitar at a young age, as well as teaching me basic music theory, something that most teachers don't do. By the age of 13, I started writing my own fingerstyle arrangements by ear and performing and playing everywhere I could. I was "The Guitar GIrl" all through middle school and high school, and music defined me as a person. at the age of 17, I auditioned for CSU Fullerton's prestigious classical guitar program and ended up getting a Performance Award scholarship to work with the amazing Dr. Martha Masters, President of the Guitar Foundation of America. I turned down the opportunity to study music and chose to turn my focus into studying Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Music at San Diego State University. All in the while, I've been able to maintain my growth as a musician, landing gigs and become a well rounded musician playing everything from Classical Guitar to Electric Guitar. I believe my success as a musician all stems from my early exposure to private guitar lessons from an amazing teacher, Ron Palo. Without the attention he gave to me when I was a kid, I wouldn't be able to play the way I do today, let alone teach his methods to my own students.

I hope my story inspires you to pick up a guitar find your passion the way I did!
