National Horse Protection Day recognizes the importance of protecting the health, safety, and well-being of horses through proper care, management, and veterinary expertise.

Today, we acknowledge the equine veterinarians and veterinary teams across San Diego County who support horses through preventative care, performance medicine, lameness management, emergency services, and lifelong health.

Equine practice is an essential part of our veterinary community, and we are proud to represent and support it through the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association.

Today marks 85 years of the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association, and we are proud to celebrate this milestone with the debut of our updated SDCVMA logo.

Since 1941, SDCVMA has supported veterinarians across San Diego County and beyond, through education, collaboration, advocacy, and community. While our look has evolved, our mission remains the same: to support and connect veterinary professionals across all areas of practice.

Thank you to the generations of veterinarians, technicians, staff, students, and leaders who have shaped our past and continue to build our future.

Happy 85th Anniversary, SDCVMA.
