According to the American Migraine Foundation, migraines are the second leading cause of global disability, and more than a billion people worldwide suffer from them. Sleep is vital to both our physical and brain health. Listen to our latest feature with KOGO radio station as UCSD-SDSU joint doctoral student Kitty Lui shares her research on the effects of poor sleep and the risk of Alzheimer’s dementia in older women. Her study found older women who are genetically at risk for Alzheimer’s had more difficulties with visual memory and tau buildup when they reported sleep complaints.
