š To Our 2026 Graduates
To all of our 2026 graduates ā whether youāre promoting to kindergarten, stepping into middle school, or walking across that high school stage ā we are so proud of you.
Every milestone matters. Every step forward is worth celebrating. And every achievement, big or small, reflects your strength, your growth, and the incredible support system around you.
In honor of highlighting the incredible achievements of each graduate student, Iām sharing a little throwback photo from my own high school graduation ā a reminder that every chapter, every transition, and every new beginning shapes who we become.
At EmpowerConnect Services, we believe in honoring each journey. Today, we celebrate your courage, your resilience, and the bright future ahead of you. Keep shining, keep dreaming, and keep moving forward with confidence.
Congratulations, Class of 2026. Your story is just getting started. š

As we near the end of the school year, Iām reflecting on the incredible strength, resilience, and growth weāve witnessed in the families and selfāadvocates we serve. Summer is a time to breathe, reset, and step forward with intention. Whether youāre preparing for new goals, navigating the SelfāDetermination Program, or simply embracing a slower rhythm, weāre here to walk with you in clarity, compassion, and confidence.
Hereās to a summer filled with empowerment, connection, and possibility. š¼

Every May, Stroke Awareness Month reminds us how fragile and precious life truly is. For me, it hits close to home. Many of you know that about four years ago, I experienced a TIA ā a transient ischemic attack, often called a āmini stroke.ā Even though it was āmini,ā the fear, the uncertainty, and the reality of what could have happened were anything but small.
That moment changed me. It woke me up. It grounded me. And it reminded me that every breath, every day, every person God places in our lives is a gift we donāt get to take for granted.
I am grateful beyond words for the people who surrounded me then and who continue to walk with me now ā my family, my friends, my community, and the incredible medical teams who helped me understand what was happening. You all gave me strength when I didnāt have much of my own. You reminded me that miracles arenāt always loud; sometimes they show up in the quiet moments when God whispers, āIām not done with you yet.ā
A TIA may last minutes, but its impact lasts a lifetime. It taught me to listen to my body, to honor my health, and to speak up ā not just for myself, but for others who may not know the signs. Because recognizing symptoms early can save a life.
So today, I share my story not for sympathy, but for awareness. For education. For hope. And for anyone who needs the reminder that you are stronger than you think, and God is working even when you canāt see it.
If you take anything from my journey, let it be this:
Know the signs. Trust your instincts. And never ignore what your body is trying to tell you.
Hereās to healing, to resilience, and to the miracle of still being here.

Today, we pause with reverence and gratitude as we honor Memorial Dayāa day that carries the weight of sacrifice, courage, and love for our country. At EmpowerConnect Services, we recognize that the freedoms we enjoy, the communities we build, and the work we are blessed to do are possible because of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.
Their sacrifice is not just a moment in history; it is a legacy that continues to shape our lives, our opportunities, and our purpose. We honor the heroes who never made it home, and we hold close the families who carry their memory every single day. Your strength, your resilience, and your love do not go unnoticed.
As we reflect today, may we be reminded that true service is rooted in compassion, courage, and a willingness to stand for others. These values guide our work at EmpowerConnectāsupporting individuals, uplifting families, and walking alongside our community with dignity and heart.
May God comfort those who mourn, bless those who serve, and inspire us all to live in a way that honors the sacrifices made on our behalf.
We remember. We honor. We are forever grateful.

š Advocate in Action āļø
Being an advocate isnāt just about showing up ā itās about stepping into the hard spaces with courage, clarity, and heart. Itās listening deeply, asking the right questions, and helping families feel seen, supported, and empowered as they navigate the SelfāDetermination Program. Every conversation, every plan, every breakthrough matters.
Advocacy in action looks like breaking down complex information so families can breathe again. It looks like standing beside them as they discover their options, build their vision, and take steps that once felt impossible. Itās celebrating their wins, honoring their challenges, and reminding them that their voice has power.
This work is personal. Itās purposeful. And itās rooted in the belief that every individual deserves dignity, choice, and a path that reflects who they are and what they need.
This is what it means to be an advocate in action ā showing up with heart, leading with compassion, and walking with families every step of the way.

As many of you know, at the end of last year I announced that I was starting a podcast and even created a separate Instagram page just for that content. But as seasons shift, so does purpose ā and the focus of that page is officially changing.
Over the last few months, Iāve shared that I am becoming an Independent Facilitator for the SelfāDetermination Program (SDP). With that in mind, Iāve decided to rename the page to:
⨠The Empowered SDP Journey āØ
This space will now focus on the mission that has truly captured my heart:
⢠Driven to empower the disability community
⢠Independent Facilitator (soon)
⢠Resource Navigator
⢠Practical tips, guidance & tools for your SDP journey
If youāre wanting to learn more about SDP, feeling unsure where to start, or simply looking for support ā this page is for you.
Iām also excited to share that, in partnership with The Shine Project Foundation, I am the Director of our new SDP Support Program, which will be launching soon, where Iāll be providing both dedicated support and Independent Facilitation services to families.
Once I am officially certified as an Independent Facilitator, Iāll be announcing it here as well. I cannot wait to walk alongside you every step of the way as you navigate your own empowered SDP journey.
Come follow me over there for all things SDP ā education, advocacy, tools, and realāworld support.
Weāre just getting started, and Iām so excited for whatās ahead.

Mental health matters. Wellness is not a one-size-fits-all, especially for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Mental wellness and inclusion are deeply connected. This Mental Health Awareness Month, weāre recognizing the importance of creating spaces where everyone feels valued.
What makes you feel included?

š¤ EmpowerConnect Services ⢠Caregiver Wellness & Support
At EmpowerConnect, we see you.
Our caregivers, our providers, our advocates ā the ones who show up with the same fierce love and protection as a mother. The ones who fight for our care, guide our steps, and remind us of our worth on the days we forget.
You pour into us with patience, strength, and heart.
You advocate when our voices shake.
You stand in the gap when the world feels overwhelming.
And the truth is simple: we are who we are today because of you.
Your wellness matters.
Your healing matters.
Your heart matters.
As we continue to grow as a community, EmpowerConnect is committed to uplifting you ā the caregivers who make everything possible. Because when you are supported, rested, and cared for, our entire community thrives.
Thank you for showing up with love.
Thank you for choosing compassion every single day.
Thank you for being the steady foundation so many of us lean on.
