Rady Children's Hospital- San Diego Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program advocates safe walking/biking to & from schools while improving the health & well-being of kids. The Safe Routes to School program (SRTS,) through The Center for Healthier Communities at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego, works to increase the number of children walking and biking to school, decrease traffic congestion around schools, and keep kids safe as they walk, ride, and roll to school each day.

One way that we are encouraging kids to walk and bike to school safely as a means of staying healthy and active is through our Active4me Tracking program.
Once a week at each school, students scan their key tag to track each walking or biking trip they take to school. Their trips are tracked and students can see the total number of miles they’ve traveled and receive fun prizes for participating. For more info, check out the website: Active4.me
