Dear family and friends,

This month (Sept. 2024) we ask for your help in choosing a name for our three-year-old effort to protect, preserve, and heal Redwood forests and watersheds, while sequestering tons-&-tons of carbon. During the month of September 2024 a new team traveling again to Mendocino forests while online, we are hosting an informal “plebiscite” among our friends, family, and allies, as we seek a popular name for our passion for Redwoods. Please vote ASAP for your favorite three names from the list of names on our new web page at www.ClimateisCentral.org

In addition, during September we urgently need a few donations to support our ongoing efforts in Redwood forests. To that end we are continuing to organize fund raising concerts; in addition we are organizing educational film showings in San Diego and other cities. We ask help today from those of you who have traveled with in Mendocino over the last three years; we are reaching out to you who have walked with us in those forests, as well as those you who have followed us in your hearts and in your prayers . . . please be generous as we say goodbye to summer another beautiful and HOT summer.

Please do pitch in whatever you can ~ be assured that every little bit helps! Thanks those who have already donated and to those who have taught us so much about protecting and preserving big trees. In particular we thank those who have taught by example… remaining committed to preserving forests they own or control, forever! In particular, we continue to learn from, and honor the indigenous communities who managed these forests tens-of-thousands of years.

Many of us are exploring ways invest in both old and new growth Redwoods forests after we die using trusts and wills. Certainly we can’t take it with us! So feel free to reach out to us to discuss practicalities of legacy gifts. Si se puede!

The Aug. YA BASTA! TEAM has returned to our homes from the beautiul Readwood Coasts and magnificent Redwood forests of Mendocino, CA., USA. We had many adventues, ceromonies, and meetings (with old and new friends including humans, trees, animals, and beaches). Soon we will post photos, texts, and perhaps a little magic on the new web page that Roberto has published; we will also post a few of the amazing photos with the goad of healin and protecting Redwood forests ~ particularly the few "Old Growth" trees left which have stood silently in their places for thousads of years.
