A nonprofit performing arts organization more or less. But the nonprofit status lists us as a "civic league and social welfare organization"

What, where, and when will they be celebrating the life of Claudia Peters Jack? I would like to be there. 🥺

Well Surf Angel has been evicted from the People's Republic of Ocean Beach after a hefty battle. At least I'm landing in Hawaii! Getting rid of everything and going for broke.
I've got a collection of Surfer Bowl women's t-shirts, mostly small if anyone is interested. I've also got one of the original chili pots from the Chili Cook Off if anyone is interested. I've also got some chunks of the original Wonderland I've collected after storms, if anyone else loves O.B. as much as I do. lol! Mahalo nui loa for letting me hang and having the best times of my life with you all.

RIP Claudia Peters Jack
May the Angels wrap you in their wings. O.B. will not be the same without you.

Hola fellow Geriatrics. The committee for the 75th Annual Coronado Fourth of July Parade has requested our participation for 2024.

I advised that we disbanded over 10 years ago and the chances are slim for a reunion of the club.

But I wanted to put this out there to see if there is any interest.

Now that we are actually Geriatrics we would need at least an hour headstart before the official parade.

Eric "Guru" Lind passed away on July 28, 2023.

In the early years of the Ocean Beach Geriatric Surf Club he provided spiritual sanity among the chaos.

Our condolences to Connie Lind and family.

John “JR” John Rankin left this world on Jan 7 2023. He passed peacefully in his home in Santa Cruz, Nayarit, México. He was diagnosed with stomach/intestinal cancer shortly before his passing. A few days before his scheduled surgery, it was discovered he had internal bleeding which made surgery very doubtful. John said “get me the F outta here. Take me home to be with my son and dog, Lil bit”. Sammy spent a month with his dad and was there at the end. John so loved his community as the community loved him. Sam organized a paddle out this past Sunday, burial of his ashes (John was the first and only gr**go buried at SC cemetery with approval of the major), and a celebration at the house with beer, tequila and tacos flowing. Sammy will be spending most of his time in what is now his home growing jack fruit, landscaping and helping a friend establish a surf shop/board repair. So grateful John and I made out peace a few years ago and renewed our friendship. Sam and I wanted you all to know as you were a big part of his life and he loved you all very much.
