Last week, The Pride Center, in collaboration with LGBTQ+ Studies and the LGBTQ Research Consortium, hosted the first Pride Research Symposium! 📖 🌈The symposium saw six students and three faculty members share about their work as it relates to the 2SLGBTQIA+, q***r, and trans community. We are so excited to see the impact and reach of the Pride Research Symposium continue to grow and look forward to hosting it again next year!

SDSU Theatre is putting on a production of Ziggy Stardust & Me starting Sept. 30. There are panel discussions after the shows focused on LGBTQ+ and Native American identity and history, as well as a panel on Children's Literature. Three panels feature faculty from College of Arts and Letters at San Diego State University--The Official Page
Prof. Draz, Director of LGBTQ+ Studies @ SDSU, will be on the panel about LGBTQ+ issues after the Sunday matinee on Oct. 1 at 2pm. It would be great to see you there!
Here is the overview of the show and the panel discussions:
By James Martinez Salem and Jessie Field, Adapted from the novel by James Brandon
Directed by Dani Bedau
Based on the bestselling novel by James Brandon, with a Bowie-inspired cosmic rock score, Ziggy, Stardust & Me is a far-out coming-of-age love story.
In 1973 Missouri, 16-year-old Web isn’t expecting to find anything good at his new school after fleeing his past on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Certainly, he’s not expecting to connect with Jonathan, the spacey Ziggy Stardust-obsessed teen he gets paired with for a school project. As the two grow closer, Web grapples with his anger at an unjust world and Jonathan struggles with his own demons, believing that his sexuality needs to be “fixed” with conversion therapy. Together, both boys must try to end the wars inside themselves, and find a way forward through love in a tumultuous world that surrounds them.
