Congratulations to Daisy Galeana ( ), one of the 2026 SDSU Alumni Awards of Distinction Honorees 🎉

Daisy (‘98, Mechanical Engineering; ‘22, Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering) is being recognized for her notable contributions to engineering and her impact on the SDSU and San Diego communities.
A proud MESA alumna, her career reflects a sustained commitment to leadership and expanding access to engineering pathways for women in STEM.

MESA’s annual STEM Shadow Day on November 20 was a huge success.
15 companies hosted 153 students from 12 different campuses, giving them the opportunity to tour facilities, explore real workplace environments, and connect with a wide range of professionals in STEM.

A huge thank you to our incredible host sites:
 , , , , , , , , , , NIWC Pacific, Aequor, Hazen and Sawyer, Raytheon, and San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board.

These photos offer just a sneak peek of what happened on November 20. Students got hands-on experiences, asked thoughtful questions, and learned directly from engineers, scientists, and industry leaders.

Solar Turbines CLC Training Academy Recap ✨
On October 10, 10 SDSU engineering students joined peers from UCSD, UCI, and NTID for Solar Turbines’ 14th Annual Caterpillar Latino Connection (CLC) Training Academy! ⚙️

The Academy featured:
• Technical presentations
• A collaborative case study team project
• A new hire panel
• Mock interviews with a managerial panel
• And a behind-the-scenes facility tour!
