In our Stems (4-5)and Roots (3-4) classrooms, we offer TK small groups that gently build children’s familiarity with the skills and experiences they’ll encounter in kindergarten. Through interactive, engaging experiences, children are introduced to the TK curriculum in ways that feel meaningful and empowering. Resilience starts early.

Mazi recently shared the three ways our educators intentionally build resilience in children—even in the youngest classrooms. Through risky play, the language of positive discipline, and big body movement, children learn how to navigate challenge, frustration, and confidence in their own bodies. This might look like climbing, negotiating turns, or naming big feelings out loud. These moments aren’t accidents—they’re thoughtfully designed opportunities for growth. Because resilience isn’t taught in a lecture; it’s lived, practiced, and supported every day.

An example of an atelier experience is when our Atelierista builds directly from the children’s ideas and theories, enriching the learning by extending their thinking. Through drawing, the children are creating visual maps that connect to early geography skills and reveal how they understand the world in relation to where they are.
