USD, I Love You,

Today is the start of the AS campaign 'USD, I Love You' in response to much of what has been happening on our campus as well as addressing the weaknesses and lack of unity in our campus culture. So in lieu of this campaign, TNB would like to write a love letter not to a specific person, org, or cause but to the student body as a whole...

USD, I Love You;

For many years now students have passed through your elegant doorways, leaned against your stone walls and awaited the day they could walk out of these doors with that diploma. Many students have yet to stop and reflect on what USD means to them. From the beauty that surrounds us every day to the inspiring, brilliant and kind people you meet; USD has changed us all in some way.

Whether it was a professor who made 'something stick', or a friend who made you smile every day or that one party that you will remember for the rest of your life; USD is us. Many of us take each day for granted not wondering what life would be like without these opportunities or without these amazing people in it, have you thought about it? USD you have made us who we are, you have shaped, taught and inspired us by providing the stepping stones for us to leap to our dreams. You help us transform these dreams to reality! We tout the slogan "Changemakers," and yet many of us don't realize how true that is. "There is ALWAYS some cause or event happening on campus, it's amazing how much people do!" stated a student one day. We walk past the UC's and glance over all of the changes that our campus is trying to make in the world and don't stop and think, "Wow, I can't wait to see what happens when these people enter 'the real world'!" With so many amazing causes and individual efforts, what could we do if we united under one banner? If Toreros worked to create change as ONE, not just as individuals but as a campus; think of the true impact we could make. The stronger the voice, the more powerful the message! USD inspires us to work out of 'the goodness of our hearts' but what about the change we could create of USD had one heart.

USD has provided a place of friendship, learning and opportunities that many (most!) schools cannot or don't care enough to provide. I love you USD because you have given us the friends we will always laugh with, the experiences we will remember forever and the knowledge that we can make change and do whatever we set our minds to. I love you USD and thank you for showing and supporting us to be whoever we want to be!

We are ONE. We are STRONG. We are TOREROS.

2. Be the change we wish to see on campus and show your love by writing a letter at the USD, I Love You campaign tomorrow during dead hours!

3. WE BROKE 100 likes! Officially 101 baby! Let's keep this change going and strengthen the bond between TOREROS!
