I’m here for the parents who are struggling with sleep training, who have tried various methods, and found that nothing they’ve done seems to be working for them or their baby. There are many aspects of newborn nurturing that come into play in providing your newborn with a safe and loving environment. Establishing consistency in your baby’s life provides structure to your child amongst the chaos of this new world they have come upon.

Creating structure or firmness in your little one’s life does not mean you are not compassionate, caring, or loving. Give yourself some grace. Recognize that your little one does not come fully prepared with the experience and wisdom of knowing what it is they want or need or even the ability to communicate it.

How should I dress my baby?

Babies go through several outfits a day, so I recommend using washable cotton layers that are easy to get on and off. When you're out and about, make sure to include extra onesies, leggings, and washcloths for cleaning up unpredictable messes.

For these cooler temps, I recommend adding fleece and blankets to keep baby cozy on these fall days.

Connecting with your baby can seem sweet in photos, but so hard when you're exhausted, hungry, and out of sorts with your new routine. When you're feeling hangry and low, just remember that it's ok and that having a baby took a lot out of you.

A few simple tips for getting some much needed rest:

🍼 Sleep when the baby sleeps.
🍼 Eat healthy meals, try to avoid binging on junk.
🍼 Pump and have milk put aside for babysitter.
🍼 Ask your partner to help where you need help.
🍼 It's ok to let some chores go so you can rest and recharge.

Dads make a difference. In today's world, it is much more common to see a dad with his baby on a weekday. Dads are taking a larger role in raising their children, and I'm here for it!

It has been cited many times that oxytocin—the “love hormone”—plays a role in a mother’s initial bonding with her child after birth. But more recently, researchers have documented the same kind of spike in oxytocin occurs when dads cuddle and play with their newborns.

We are learning that men do have the parenting instinct. As we let go of defined gender roles, men are showing more and more that they are highly capable of benefiting their children by being more involved from the very start.

Just as women have always had what it takes to be CEOs, men have always had the power to nurture. Moms are not the primary parent anymore, and I'm excited to see this changing in our world today.

My classes are for every kind of parent, and I'm so glad to see more and more dads joining in and actively taking a leading role in parenting their children.

Sleep Training, Debunking the Fears 09/28/2022

Sleep training has become a huge hot topic discussion on TikTok. Once again, nervous new moms are confused by naysayers and information overload. Let me break down my response and my advice on how to get your new baby to sleep through the night in their designated crib. Read on, my first blog!

Sleep Training, Debunking the Fears I recently came across the article, “Night Terrors: How TikTok has supercharged the age-old debate over sleep training” in New York magazine. The author, Laura Hazard Owen, provided a well-written article that summed up what many parents have experienced as they have embarked on the journey of p...

The Newborn Care Specialist

About Dalliana

I am a committed professional who takes the mystery and fear out of the beautiful experience of bringing a baby into the world. I am a mother of three children (one with special needs), each of whom had his or her own personality, even as infants. Getting to know your infant’s character and predispositions is one of the most exciting opportunities you will engage in with your child from infancy to adulthood. Often you will see traits of either the father or mother taking root in your child, carrying on your genetic lineage. The reason to work with an infant care specialist is to help foster healthy and supportive learned habits at the earliest age to decrease stress and discomfort and increase happiness and love for the whole family.

My role as an newborn care specialist carries with it a commitment to support mothers and fathers of newborns to connect their own innate abilities to new skills to comfort and nurture their children. Each parent-child relationship is unique and sacred. I position myself as a guide alongside as a coach, mentor, and cheerleader. Society places so much pressure on today’s mothers and fathers, who often are managing careers, a marriage, and a budding new venture of creating a family, sometimes without the natural extended-family support that was available in generations past. I feel my calling is to fill this gap to ensure a healthy family dynamic that can build a loving, caring, and stable home for baby to thrive as he or she is introduced to each new experience baby encounters and to provide mom or dad with the tools to navigate those situations independently and with confidence.
