Little Glimpses into Joshlyn: Cambodia Edition

Hey Everyone! Please pray for my travel day ahead! I am coming from Cambodia to California. It’s going to be awesome to see you all but I appreciate prayers! It’s so tough to say goodbye to a place that’s become my home! Love you all, thanks!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I wanted to hop on here and say thank you so much for supporting me and keeping me in your prayers this year!

I am going into this year more and more expectant for beautiful things! I am expectant to be interrupted by God, to be caught in divine encounters and opportunities to share his Gospel. Love you all!

Guys! I don't know about you but I felt like November flew by.

This month has been full with so many beautiful and amazing things. A couple of weeks ago I went with our team from Cambodia (24 members in total) to an Iris Family Gathering to Malaysia. It was powerful. I asked God to meet me and he did. It was evident with the piles of tissues and snot alike that seemed to follow me in every session. It was beautiful. I also got to meet some new friends who I am determined were a gift from God. They helped to see the value of having fun again and it awoke my heart to being childlike. To think like a child where my adult brain has gotten me stuck. Not childish but one that is not afraid to ask my Father for help. To dance and to have fun.

I am doing well. Adjusting back to being in Cambodia and now getting ready for Christmas and parties and more! Please pray for my heart. I anticipate many tears in the next few weeks. Those that come from meeting the Lord, those that come from missing family, and those that come from joy. Please pray! Thank you all!

I also, cut my hair! That’s an update worth mentioning I think. 🤪

Let me tell you some of my craft ideas don’t translate super well! 😂😂😂

Baby Jesus became spider alien lookin something’s!

There is another community outreach I go to visit and help with once a week! This one is still new and developing. These kids are bright and full of energy, they love to participate and as I drive into the community they will be chasing and running after me! It’s so sweet.

The other week we did an extended period of drawing! Coloring in all of these hearts and stars! Then one of the Staff and I put them all up around the room. Some of the kids stayed back and helped and it was the most precious thing ever.

As a little kid in school I would do similar crafts and it would make me feel so proud when I brought them home and then it was put up on the fridge! I could see in some of these kids that same pride and excitement that something they worked on was put up around the room!

On Thursday nights at our community outreach I am now involved with making crafts for the kids!! It has been so much fun to see these kids put their all into the drawings or on the other hand quickly scribble their way to that snack when they turn it in at the end of the night!

Most times I like to try and incorporate whatever is being taught that evening by our wonderful Khmer Staff! They work so hard each week to craft lessons for these kids to hear about the Gospel and also general health and well being tips!

These are drawings from when the teaching was about Joseph and his coat of many colors, Jesus and Peter as he walked on water and then fish because there is always more than enough!

It’s been a while, sorry about that! It’s gotten so busy over here with just life moving so fast. I have a little time now so I am going to squeeze a couple of little nuggets in here for you guys!

A few weeks ago our team met with one of the teenage girls from our community for a one on one. They got to talking about Jesus and she was so interested to know more about him, asking deep thoughtful questions about him. Throughout the conversation our team encouraged her to continue her journey to find Jesus, to pray and to talk to him personally. A couple weeks went by and we continued to see her and pray for her that she would accept Jesus into her heart. At the most recent One on One with her, she decided to accept Jesus and she reported a warm and peaceful feeling come over her body!! It was just so beautiful. I jumped in a burst of excitement! She is welcomed into the family of God, she has the comfort of his spirit and the access to talk to him! Praise Jesus! A few days later we gave her family an Audio Bible! Sometimes families will put on the Buddhist chants and sermons to go to sleep at night and we heard that her whole family has changed to put on and listen to the Bible before sleeping!

Revival on the missions field is a life transformed! In this case something as simple as switching what they go to sleep to is transformation enough! Thank you Jesus!
