Leadership right now isn’t just about performance, it’s about infrastructure.

The systems your business relies on, the way your team operates, the assumptions you’ve inherited are all being tested at the same time.

The leaders I’m looking to connect with are the ones willing to do deep work - to shift beyond just optimizing outcomes and pivot to rethinking how those outcomes are produced.

This kind of shift requires courage, and a willingness to look at the personal side of leadership. But it’s also what creates organizations that can actually sustain themselves over time.

I’ve always believed that small businesses of conscious shouldn’t just react to the economy, we should help shape it. 🕊️

During my time on the Riverside County Economic Development Planning Committee, I saw a chance to bring our voices forward. Through a simple survey, we contributed to the data needed to ensure entrepreneurship was a priority for our region’s future.

It was an exciting win because founders that care need to be part of the conversations that dictate our operating conditions.

The collage you see here started with a question I couldn’t shake:

How do you keep building the future you believe in while witnessing harm you can’t immediately stop?

I sat down with paper, glue, and pastels trying to work through that tension. The art became a way of redirecting my attention back to where I actually have power to build. It was a first set of tangible actions to build momentum in the direction of that better future. By preparing my nervous system to both build its capacity and making the work I had to do part of my practice.

I personally know about half a dozen young people who have left their jobs recently.

It wasn’t about salary. In each case, they felt the work wasn’t aligned with the kind of life they wanted to build. They couldn’t see a sense of purpose in it.

That’s something managers should pay attention to.

Younger employees aren’t just evaluating compensation. They’re asking whether their work supports a purpose-filled life.
