In between sessions, we pulled a few of our El Centro Movement Specialists aside to ask:
"Why do you do what you do?"
Their answers reflect the heart behind our team β the passion, purpose, and dedication they bring to every client, every session, and every moment of growth.
We're grateful for the Movement Specialists who continue to make an impact through movement that matters. π

Happy Autism Awareness Month. π
To kick things off, we asked our movement specialists one simple question: What's one thing people should know about autism?
Their answers are a reminder that autism is not one-size-fits-all β it's a spectrum of unique experiences, strengths, and perspectives.
Take a moment to listen, learn, and reflect.
π Now we want to hear from you.

More highlights from last week's San Diego Gulls game with this amazing crew! Until next year! ππ₯
β¨
Kidisthenics took our annual social outing to a San Diego Gulls game this past week π
And yes, we got to high-five the players as they hit the ice (definitely a highlight). Moments like that are what make these outings so special.
Getting out into the community and experiencing the San Diego sports scene together is what it's all about β bringing our Kidisthenics community together for a fun and memorable night.
Already looking forward to the next one π₯

A pretty unforgettable day at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park ππΏ
One of our Kidisthenics clients spent the day exploring the grand opening of Elephant Valley at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park β a newly expanded habitat designed to reflect the elephants' natural savanna environment and allow guests to experience what it's like to move alongside the herd.
Moments like this are what social outings are all about. Trips into the community to explore new environments, build confidence and enjoy meaningful experiences alongside their movement specialists.
β¨ Weβve had a glow-up! β¨

Autism Digest β’ Autism Digest -- February 2026 β’ Page 20 As we welcome 2026, the February issue of Autism Digest arrives with renewed hope and possibility. Th e start of a new year invites us to reflect on progress made and to embrace fresh opportunities for growth, connection, and empowerment in the autism community. opportunities for growth, connection,...
Rhythmic Movement Training (RMT) is one of the foundational tools we use to support regulation, focus, and motor control π§ πͺ
For many individuals with autism, the vestibular (balance and spatial awareness) and proprioceptive (body awareness) systems can be dysregulated. This might show up as constant movement-seeking, difficulty sitting still, poor balance, low muscle tone, or challenges with coordination and focus.
We push through these challenges by working with the nervous system.
At Kidisthenics, we integrate short, intentional bursts of rhythmic movement into our sessions to deliver targeted sensory input. These repetitive, patterned movements help the brain organize information coming from the body, laying the groundwork for improved regulation, attention, and controlled movement.
You'll also notice midline-crossing movements β actions that require the left and right sides of the body to work together. Crossing the midline supports bilateral coordination, communication between the brain's hemispheres, and skills essential for daily life like walking, catching and writing.
By meeting the nervous system where it is, we help individuals move through the world with greater confidence.
