Remember that as a parent, modeling is your super power for teaching language. Oh, and it's also super easy. ββββββββ
ββββββββ
You can model language during everyday rote activities:ββββββββ
ββββββββ
* With water: "Let's turn the water ON, we're going to get wet!" ... "Now let's turn the water OFF and get your towel!"ββββββββ
ββββββββ
* With the TV: "Time to turn the TV ON for 30 minutes." ... "It's been 30 minutes, we're going to turn the TV OFF now."ββββββββ
ββββββββ
* With a light: "Good morning! Time to turn your night light OFF." ... "Let's turn the light ON so we can see."ββββββββ
ββββββββ
What other daily ON/OFF activities can you think of?ββββββββ

Valentine's Day has so many great opportunities for building language! We love so many books that are Valentine's Day themed, but we have narrowed it down to our 5 faves.
1. In My Heart by Jo Witek
An amazing book that helps children learn about, talk about and identify feelings and emotions.
2. Love Monster by Rachel Bright
Your child will love this adorable monster! This book has a great message about loving someone for who they are.
3. There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Rose by Lucille Colandro and Jared Lee
We love this series of books. Not only do our little ones find it so funny, but it teaches vocab and sequencing. The repetitive nature of the book allows your little one to read along!
4. Little Blue Truck's Valentine by Alice Schertle and Jill McElmurry
Another series that we love because it is repetitive and simple!
5. The Day It Rained Hearts by Felicia Bond
The sweetest, simple story that will inspire creativity!
Check out our blog - π in bio for more detailed information and Amazon links.

It's a great thing that these songs are engrained in your mind from when you were little. It probably takes you right back to that time with some memories attached.
Guess what? You're doing the same for your kiddos!
Simple tunes help us chunk lyrics together by linking words and phrases in the music. The melody and rhythm are there to attach lyrics to, making it easier to recall later.
And now, we're learning language!
SAVE this post to quickly refer to songs!
1. The Wheels on the Bus
2. Old MacDonald
3. The Hokey Pokey
4. Head, Shoulder's, Knees & Toes
5. The Itsy Bitsy Spider
6. If You're Happy and You Know It
7. Five Little Monkeys
8. Five Little Ducks
