🔑 Here's the secret: great questions start with self-awareness.

✏️ Before you set foot on campus, ask yourself:
→ What do I need to thrive academically?
→ What kind of community do I want to belong to?
→ What are my fears about college — and what would ease them?

Then turn those answers into questions:
💬 "What does academic support look like for students who struggle in their first semester?"
💬 "How easy is it to switch majors — and what does that process actually look like?"
💬 "Where do students hang out on a random Tuesday night?"
💬 "What's something you wish you knew before enrolling here?"

See the difference? These aren't Google-able. They reveal the real culture of a campus.

Every college rep throws around the term “holistic review.” But what does it actually mean for your student?

🎓 It’s not a formula. Colleges aren’t plugging in numbers and spitting out decisions. Think of it like a stool with multiple legs — GPA, essays, activities, recommendations, and life context all work together.

📋 No single factor dominates. A great essay won’t save a weak transcript. But one rough semester won’t close doors either. The full picture matters.

💡 Here’s what a UC admissions reader told me: “Our goal is not to reward past success — but to see how the student is going to engage in all that we have to offer.”
