After much consideration, I have made the difficult decision to close my program. It has been a very memorable two years and I am so thankful for the families who put their faith in me to take care of their children. It has been a privilege to touch the lives of so many toddlers and provide a loving, enriching environment for them to learn and grow in. I would not have been able to run such a successful program without the help of my amazing assistant, , the support of my husband, and the guidance of my mentors & . Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. 🥰
Here's a look at some of my recent favorite memories... I'm sure going to miss these kiddos! ❤️❤️❤️

This women's history Month, we celebrate and give tribute to Dr. Maria Montessori - A woman of courage, strength, and perseverance. I admire her dedication to making the world a better place through education and establishing her own voice for all to hear and follow. A little history...
Maria Montessori was an Italian physician, educator, and innovator, acclaimed for her educational method that builds on the way children learn naturally.
She was one of the first female doctors in Italy and started her career with a focus in psychiatry. It was through this focus that she came to work with children at a mental institution. Through her observation, persistence, and innovative thinking, the majority of the children caught up with their peers in an ordinary classroom. This led Montessori to take a more keen interest in education.
After pursuing further academic work in educational philosophy and anthropology, Montessori had the opportunity to work at a children's day nursery for severely under-served children. Using scientific observation and experience gained from her earlier work with children, Maria designed learning materials and a classroom environment that fostered the children’s natural desire to learn and provided freedom for them to choose their own materials.
To the surprise of many, the children in Maria’s programs thrived, exhibiting concentration, attention, and spontaneous self-discipline. The Montessori Method began to gain traction, and by 1910, Montessori schools were being established around the world, including in the United States where the first Montessori school opened in New York in 1911.
Not only was Maria Montessori a pioneer in education, she also campaigned vigorously on behalf of women’s rights. She wrote and spoke frequently on the need for greater opportunities for women, and was recognized in Italy and beyond as a leading feminist voice.
Thank you Maria Montessori for paving the way for our future and inspiring educators and parents worldwide to create a better world for our children!

Happy Valentine's Day from all of us at Little Wonders Montessori! ❤️
We've done lots of art this week, but have also had a lot of themed trays/shelf work. Here's a glimpse of what we've been working on in our little classroom.

We welcomed two new friends to our group in January and it's been a fun and busy month getting to know them!

Happy October!! We're kicking off this month with some pumpkin washing, a great practical life activity for toddlers! 🎃
Washing activities help children develop concentration, become aware of order and sequencing, and become more independent. Plus they are easy to set up for the adult and highly engaging for children. Grab a tray or tub, towel, any kind of scrub brush, some water, and any random item around the house to get started (think fruit, toys, dolls, etc.) and let your child explore!

WELCOME! It's been a busy two weeks as we welcomed three new friends to Little Wonders Montessori. The water table and garden have been popular activities outside while some classic "Put and Takes" have been the clear favorite inside. We're excited to have such a full house these days!

There are so many wonderful benefits of sand and sandbox play. It can definitely be a bit messy so I always have the house ready to rinse hands and feet off before heading inside but I mostly try to embrace the mess because I know how much the kids love sandbox time. 🏜
Swipe to read about some of the benefits of sandbox play for littles.
