Dear sweet soul...
I just want to acknowledge you. What you're are experiencing is real and fair. You are not too much. Your feelings are not too much. You get to be in all the places that you are.
You are a human being and as a living, breathing being on this planet you will try to make sense of a world that can be difficult to understand.
You will have ups and you will have downs. Without the downs, the ups wouldn't be as sweet and inspiring. The downs have us feel what is real, the downs have us thank our lucky stars for what we do have, the downs slow our movement and allow us to pause in the experience of life.
This phase is here for a reason. So try to meet yourself with kindness and grace. Try to meet others with understanding. Try to meet this phase with softness and curiosity.
And just like all things in life this phase will end. You will emerge a little wiser and with more clarity on where to go from here.

WHY I AM ASKING FOR HELP + WHAT SPECIFICALLY WILL THE FUNDS BE USED FOR:
I know how easy it is to disconnect from the body as a means of survival. Far too many people live this way and they don't have a safe space or community to get support.
This money will be used to invest in the proper equipment, software, education and tools to ensure the business is accessible, inclusive and safe.
β¨Appropriate massage equipment and tools to serve people with all abilities
β¨Massage table and chair built for mobility and travel
β¨Transportation upgrades
β¨The materials to build an integral structure on my residence where clients can receive services safely.
β¨The necessary equipment and supplies to create a comfortable and private experience.
β¨Website design + automation (overall ease of use)
ππ½The funds will also be used to invest in an inclusion consultant who can properly educate me on the inherent biases that are present when building a wellness business. That way I can actively fight against racism, gender and body discrimination through my choices.ππ½
ππ½A portion of the money will be used to start a community fund. Here folxs can nominate a person--who may not otherwise have the means, transportation or time for self care-to receive a free massage. I will pick two people each month, work with them and provide a massage at no cost!ππ½

Do you find yourself coming up against the same negative thought loops or emotional responses when things don't go as planned? You are not alone.
One of the toughest human conditions to grow through is ATTACHMENT. Attachment to people, situations and events that unfold differently than what we expected or desired often leave us feeling upset.
What we can remember is the law of impermanence. Nothing is forever and everything changes including us!
So attachment doesn't mean we can't have relationships, experiences and things that we love, it just means that we understand those things may not last forever or go "as planned".
When our relationships, bodies, careers, beliefs, etc. change or something unexpected occurs, remember that we are still whole with and without those things.
Those events, people and possessions were something we enjoyed for awhile but they don't define our happiness or who we are. If it's time for them to go, it's okay to let them go.
Letting go doesn't always feel good but it is actually the most freeing choice we can make, because we put the power back in our hands rather than giving it away to some person, situation or event.

I was working with a client recently and we were discussing change. She shared that before we worked together, she had set many personal goals around eating, exercise and overall wellbeing but always failed to maintain any changes long-term.
This is a really normal experience for most people. Mainly because we set goals and focus on results. Results matter and what we don't think about is, what drives those results...our thoughts.
It is easy to underestimate how much mindset will impact daily actions and ultimately results. What thoughts are you consuming on most days?
She has since implemented daily meditation, a consistent movement practice and feels motivated to reach for high vibration foods daily.
What made the difference? We worked on her mindset first. We carefully and gently took inventory of her daily thoughts, looked at patterns and narratives that weren't serving her and implemented practices to design new stories about who she was that were empowering.
Food for thought (or thought for food π€·ββοΈ)...

π§What are you telling yourself or believing daily or consistently (I have too far to go, I'm too old, young, busy, etc.)?

What does it mean to be fully present?
When I'm fully present, I am breathing π, grounding down and embracing what's happening in that moment. When I'm not, I typically feel a sense of overwhelm and paralysis.
How many times have you caught yourself reliving some past experience in your mind or worrying about some future situation that hasn't happened yet? For me, more times than I'd like to admit.
Most often the way out is through. When I'm willing to look at the situation unfolding in front of me as it's happening, the path out becomes more clear.
The present moment is a tool, if we listen and fully embrace it, the fear or whatever emotion is there (the thing that has been stopping us) often disappears and we can move forward with more clarity.
Here is a fun mnemonic to remember.

This week we are exploring compassion. We all experience moments of uncertainty, especially in the last 12 months!
One way to integrate compassion into your life, is to actually get present to what the sensation of discomfort feels like.
When uncomfortable moments arise, like anger, sadness, anxiety, etc. try to tune into the sensation. What does it feel like in your body?
Here is where compassion comes in. Take a deep breathe and exhale. Now tune into what the sensation of compassion feels like in your body.
This one action of bringing awareness to your breath and to the sensation of compassion will start to pull your focus towards compassion rather than the lower vibration feelings. Try this on in your life and donβt forget to BREATHE!
