Memorial Day may be over on the calendar, but gratitude is not.
This week we honor those who gave their lives in service to something greater than themselves — and recommit ourselves to building schools and communities rooted in belonging, voice, courage, and democracy.
We remember through how we lead.

For 12 years, PS 247 has shown what is possible when a school commits deeply to community, reflection, and learner agency.
Today’s World Café reminded us that real implementation is built through courageous conversations, deep listening, and collective responsibility for young people.
One message kept surfacing:
Students thrive when they feel seen, trusted, connected, and empowered to own their learning.
12 years later, the mission continues.
Community is not separate from the work. It is the work.
Swipe left. Will send out world cafe materials in the Impact Team FB group this weekend.

Happy Mother’s Day to the caregivers, nurturers, quiet sages, and mother figures who stay beside us through the hardest parts of being alive. ❤️
At The Core Collaborative, we spend a great deal of time talking about human development, identity, healing, and what it means to truly support people through growth.
But long before frameworks, systems, or leadership work, there are often people who teach us these lessons simply through the way they live.
Today, our founder shared a deeply personal essay called “The Dinner Table” — a reflection on fear, grief, love, emotional resilience, and the people who help us survive ourselves.

Most school districts say they value student voice.
Very few create the conditions for it to truly matter.
That’s what makes our intergenerational partnership with our YES (Youth Empowered Stewardship) team and Auburn so powerful.
At Say YES to Change in Auburn School District #408 , students didn’t just share ideas—they demonstrated ownership:
* They identified problems that matter to them
* They gathered perspectives
* They proposed change
This is the difference between:
➡️ Engagement
➡️ And agency
Voice becomes powerful when it leads to action.
That’s what this work is about.

Say YES to Change 💥
250+ students, educators, and families showing up tonight—ready, energized, and all in.
The team is bringing it.
Gary. Naomi. Patricia. Jeneca. Luis. Benjie. Solomon. All onsite. All in.
But let’s be real…
We don’t gather like this just to celebrate. We gather because something has shifted and we have to shift more.
Too many students still don’t see themselves in the learning.
Too many classrooms feel disconnected instead of empowering.
Tonight is about more than energy.
It’s about action.
Say YES to change.
Say YES to belonging.
Say YES to instruction that actually reflects our students.
Let’s go. 🔥

From Dependence to Sustainability
Just 3 years ago in CA started a 3 year Impact Team journey.
All K–12, PLCs and ILT met—but feedback rarely drove improvement. “Formative” practices were present, but students weren’t at the center, and feedback seldom led to revision or ownership. District capacity was uneven.
That has changed!
Across K–12 -- PLCs-ILTs, and district coordinators are now centering feedback as a driver of improvement. Teachers are leading their own inquiry—using evidence to decide what to adjust, reteach, and refine.
District coordinators are now leading and keeping the work coherent—supporting teams, strengthening alignment, and ensuring the focus stays on improvement.
This is the shift toward sustainability and their IMPACT real!!
Let's show some love ❤️ to our Executive Director and the Lammersville coordinators!

BIG NEWS!
We are proud to announce a partnership with Educational Vistas!
This is more than a strategic move.
It’s two family-owned organizations coming together around a shared belief:
➡️ Data should lead to action that improves learning.
Right now, schools are surrounded by data— but too often, it stops at analysis.
Together, we’re working to change that.
📊 insight → 🎯 action → 📈 impact
