Emotions... we need them... period!
Emotions help us navigate our lives, they are meant to help us in our physical reality
They tell us things... sure sometimes we miss interpret things and get mad because we thought someone was talking s**t when they really were not
But that's not your emotions fault, it's your unmanaged mind that jumped to conclusions and misinterpreted what someone said
You see, avoiding your emotions is NOT the solution

When you don't trust yourself, you can't rely on yourself
And if you can't relyon yourself you don't make changes, you don't take risks, you don't grow
And if you're not growing, you're dying
Feed your brain with knowledge, then use that knowledge to make changes in your life
If you make mistakes, that okay, learn from them and keep going
The time we have on this earth is going to pass regardless, how do you want to live it?

Here's the thing.... WE ALL HAVE TRAUMA!
We either experienced our own trauma during our currently life time or we inherited our parents, grandparents and ancestors' trauma
There really is no way around it!
If you're a minority in the United States, I guarantee you have trauma
If you have a hatred toward certain people, races or genders.... you have trauma
If you have any hatred in your heart... you have trauma
And trauma, when it goes unnoticed creates fear, sadness, envy, jealousy, anger.... it creates suffering
Since we all have it, we can all heal from it!
Even you! If you want to heal from it!
Admitting or realizing that your have trauma is difficult
Your brain likes to normalize and minimize your experiences so "they're not that bad." OR worse.... you don't even realize that what you went through or what you learned stems from trauma
The goal is to wake up and take responsibility of your trauma... you're not just born like this... something shaped you into this and it's your job to change it
Not for anyone else, FOR YOU!
This is YOUR life!

How often do you go through your day complaining about things?
How often do you go around noticing all the things that are wrong?
The answer is, probably pretty often!
Our brains are programed to look for "the wrong and the bad" so that makes sense
But if you let your brain be the boss, then you will ONLY see "the wrong, the bad, the negatives," ALWAYS
Yeah...... that means that it's your job to be the boss of your brain 🧠 so you can tell it to look for the positives instead.... and guess what?? You'll find them!

We tend to think that the way we create results and changes in our lives is by the actions we take
So I'm sure, you're all a bunch of action takers
You fill up your schedules, calendars and planners with all the things you want to get done
Maybe you make a "to do" lists with the final bullet on it saying, "make another to do list."
You're constantly doing something... constantly busy
Then you wonder why you're not getting the result that you want If you're working your ass off
This is why.....
The actions you are taking are driven by your emotions and usually, your emotions are created by your way of thinking
Limiting beliefs/ thoughts create limiting behaviors
So if your thoughts aren't aligned with what you want, your behaviors won't be either
And if you can't manage your brain or control your thoughts, then you can't get into alignment
So you end up working your ass off and getting no where

However, women with Type A personality also tend to suffer from anxiety, Irritability, stress and burnout quite frequently
You know you're Type A when you:
• Are very goal oriented/ ambitious
• Very impatient
• Easily agitated with delays
• Are kind of a perfectionist
• You rather do the work because otherwise it may not get done right
It's no wonder why you feel stressed, irritable and overwhelmed most of the day
I used to struggle with all the same things until I started practicing mindfulness
• I learned how to slow down and use my breath to anchor and calm myself
• I learned how to experience and feel my emotions without having to get rid of them
• I learned how to watch my thoughts and how to change them
• I learned how to live my life without so much urgency so I could finally enjoy it
Mindfulness changed everything in my life and now is the foundational skill that I teach all my clients and want to teach you too!!!

Ever feel disconnected from your body? Or from your surroundings?
Ever feel like you want to crawl out of your skin or like the worst is going to happen?
This exercise is a great way of bringing yourself to the present moment when you're feeling anxious, your mind is racing or you can't sit still
Practice this exercise when you don't need it so you can get familiar with it, so when you do need it, you know it will work

Mental health tip: take a break from your phone today
I remember when I practiced this at first, I would unknowingly and unintentionally pick up my phone and start looking at it
As if I was on autopilot....
I started catching myself and intentionally setting the phone down everytime I unintentionally/habitually picked it up
It was quite comical to see how much I was doing it
I also noticed how much more I enjoyed my surroundings when I was off my phone and after continued practice, I realized how anxious scrolling through my phone actually made me
So try it! Get off your phone and take deep breathes. Reconnect with yourself, reconnect with your surroundings, fill your life with more than just mindless scrolling
This is how you live intentionally, instead of on autopilot ♡

4 years ago I had the saddest, most depressing birthday because I didn't want to get older
I didn't want to keep aging, I felt like I was running out of time and that I was only getting closer to death
Very morbid thoughts....
After that year, I slowly started making peace with aging but it still felt like I was faking it... "better make the best of it," I would say 😮💨
Today I turn 32... I have 32 years of life under my belt and I'm looking to collect A LOT more
You see, I changed my relationship with life... I began to really appreciate all the magic that existed in my life... the magic I didn't think I had and therefore couldn't see in my life
I change my thoughts from, "I'm running out of time," to "I get another year of magic."
My journey has been painful, scary, shameful and I've experienced my own traumas along with the ones passed down to me
I made a decision to get out of survival mode and to take responsibility for my life
I made a decision to heal so I could see all the magic that already IS my life and for that I am the most appreciative
I changed the trajectory of my life!!
I decided where I wanted to go in my life!
And then I went there lol
I'm so excited to get another year and to see what I create with it
I wanna wish myself a happy birthday and tell myself how proud I am of myself ♡
Lets celebrate 🍾 ✨️
