me + paint = 🐔🌸🥕🐝🍎🌟🪻🐇🍓✨

Before varnishing this mural I couldn’t stop thinking about how this yellow petal was not the shape I wanted it to be, so after taking literally 30 seconds to fix it, LeeAnn SimpLee Designs and I had a little photoshoot while the paint dried 🤩

I scream, you scream…

October’s postcard art features my favorite local ice cream shop, Pepper Tree Frosty! As a kid, my go-to was always a chocolate-dipped cone, so now anytime I have one, I feel very nostalgic ✨

In 2025, it was announced that this area will soon be redeveloped, so unfortunately we’re going to lose this cutie blue roof and its iconic vibes! This is one of my favorite buildings in North County Vista, so I wanted to go out and paint it before it’s gone (just the building; word is that Pepper Tree will still have a spot in the new space)🍦

Want a 5”x7” art print of this local gem? Make sure you sign up for my Postcard Club by October 20!! Just $10 supports one of your favorite local artists (me) and treats yourself to some refreshing artwork. 🔗 in bio to join!

The original painting is available, 16” x 20”, acrylic on canvas; DM if interested!! This pic was taken during golden hour can you tell ☀️☀️☀️

👀 I let 40 kids help paint a mural!

This week I started an outdoor mural at an elementary school, and got to spend a couple of hours painting with the kids! It was super cute, and I felt confident doing this after watching iz run the ArtReach San Diego mural program like a boss for so many years 🙌

Also, thanks to my dad and Emily Uhrhammer Art for helping me manage the day while some of the kids jumped and slapped the brush onto the wall!! I’ll be back next week applying second coats, cleaning up the linework, and adding all the tiny details ✨✨✨

I’ll tell you more about the design in a future post, but the vibes are giving 🐔🍃🌻🐝🥕🐇🦋🐛☀️🌸🍅💛

We talked to an artist who is actually running a snail mail club about what it takes to make physical connection a real membership strategy
