Good News for CCW Renewal Students!

Due to lengthy processing times, the San Diego Sheriff’s Dept. is now allowing you to take your CA CCW 8-Hour Renewal Course up to 6 months in advance. Please note, you may still only submit your renewal application (including the Certificate of Completion from your class) 90 days prior to your expiration date.

To help you stay ahead, 2nd A Fi****ms Training is introducing the Summer Special Loyalty Program! From July 1st through September 30th, we’re offering a discounted rate of $180 for the CA CCW 8-Hour Renewal Course (range fees may apply).

Is Your CCW Up To Date?
The Sheriff’s Dept. requires you to submit your renewal application 45 days prior to your expiration. If you fail to do so, you can not carry until you have completed the renewal course and submitted it to the San Diego Sheriff's Dept. for approval. Get ahead of the crowds as you can actually take the class 90 days prior to your renewal date.
As of Jan 01, 2024 the CA DOJ CCW Renewal Class for the SD Sheriff’s Dept. is now an 8hr Renewal Course.

SB2 (Senate Bill 2) and DUI
If you are a current CCW holder (and you are not carrying or possessing) and get DUI, your permit will be suspended immediately until the outcome of your case. If you are convicted, when your probation has been fully completed, an additional 5 year penalty will be accessed before you may apply for a new CCW.
If you get a DUI while carrying or possessing your firearm your permit will be revoked immediately until the outcome of your case. When your probation has been fully completed, an additional 5 year penalty will be accessed before you may apply for a new CCW.
