Confident Births

Confident Births Childbirth Classes offered by Nicki Ryan. Be Confident, Be Educated, Be Safe My childbirth classes teach you more than you even realize is out there to learn.

I think it is always smart to go into anything as educated as you can be,so that all of your options are open - otherwise your choices are limited. If you take my class, both the mom and dad become educated in how your body works, how you can help rather than hinder your labor, what choices you have, and you have all that at your disposal. The choices you make during your labor are educated decisi

ons rather than deciding out of fear because you don't have any other way out. That is my main focus - to get women (and their men) to stop being afraid of labor and stop making choices out of fear. It has been a joy to see my students find for themselves how awesome their bodies and birth truly are.

I am officially a DONA trained doula. If you know anyone who might appreciate someone by their side in labor, I would love a chance to talk to them.

I am renewing my focus on my doula practice. If you know of anyone who would like to talk about what a doula does and how I can help, please send them my info! Thanks!

Interesting...one more study showing if there are no serious signs of problems and not a real good reason to induce, allowing labor to start on it's own is the safest route.

2:30am sitting in the kitchen eating almonds and milk with my rice sock warming in the oven. Just home from meeting Chloe Nunos and being able to enjoy this baby's first moments of life. Megan was an amazing mom and the perfect example of following her instincts through it all. I love birth!

New class starts tonight. I've gone more high tech with my iPad and YouTube videos and putting graphics on the tv. New outline and an extra 1/2 hour of time for class leaves me a little nervous that it will all go well tonight.

The safest route is to trust and be comfortable with your care provider. If you don't trust your OB or midwife, please find someone you do. People change providers all the time in all stages of pregnancy.

Sometimes, it's just not working out. It may be awkward to part ways with your doc, but it may be best for you and baby. Here's how to know when to switch OBs. By Caitlin Brody for TheBump.com From awkward first interviews to relying on…
