A series I didn’t quite know I needed. The addition of the grid, the simplicity of the style, and complexity of application. I needed to take a step back and just be. This series is a representation of that.

A taste of garden sings.
Separate voices,
woven into one quiet chord.

Each tomato surprised me as I preserved it. The color change, the amount of skin I was able to retrieve, the look when broken down and pieced together.

Tomorrow, they become an artwork.

Broken down, then reassembled;
The pause becomes permanent.

In an unexpected twist the tomato skin turned to yellow, leaving just a hint of green behind. The color was so strong, I thought surely it’ll be the same when preserved.

Ripe, but green.
Yellow hues showed through as the skin preserved. Hint of fading green still remaining.
