🎃 From Waste to Life
Pumpkin cleanup season means truckloads of leftovers heading our way.
They’ll first feed the animals — a sweet fall treat before winter. 🐷🐔🐑
Once they will start to rot, they’ll be turned into compost, giving back to the soil that will grow next year’s food for our customers. 🌱
It’s a big waste if you ask me… but at least they’re not going to the landfill. Here, nothing is wasted — it all comes full circle. ♻️🌾

The market garden is coming back to life! Excited to bring fresh produce back to the farmers market in just a few weeks. Slowly expanding the diversity — aiming for a beautiful palette of crops this spring. 🌿✨

Our sheep and pigs aren’t just adorable — they’re part of the regenerative heartbeat of the farm now. 🐑🐖
They’re friendly, come when called, and make moving them to fresh grazing a breeze. Getting the pigs to graze the orchard, and the sheep will keep everything tidy.
Every rotation helps build healthier soil, happier animals, and a more vibrant ecosystem. 🌱✨

🐷 Meet the newest addition: Kunekune pig! 🐽🌱
These gentle grazers are perfect for small-scale farms. Unlike most pigs, Kunekunes are easy on the land — they don't root and tear up soil as aggressively, making them ideal partners for rotational grazing in our food forest.

They’ll help manage the understory, clean up fallen fruit, and cycle nutrients — all without damaging our trees or soil structure. A great example of animals working with the farm ecosystem, not against it.

Excited to see them thrive here! 💚

All life starts with the soil. If you want to grow flowers, vegetables, fruit, or grass, you need to first take care of the soil. Conventional farming practices have taken away half of our topsoil in the last 150 years. Regeneration of the lands starts with the basic love and appreciation for what lies beneath our feet. Support farmers who regenerate the soil- not deplete it, compost your food waste, and reconnect with nature/ourselves.

Pearl's Sunday Makers Market stroll, and I just love the scenery down by the river just steps away. I unfortunately got really upset when a graduate did this plastic confetti streamer popper for a picture and as I frantically bent over to pick it up as it started to blow in the water, I found myself actually scolding the entire group. I walked away with my blood boiling. Who have I become?? I felt proud for standing up and protecting what I love, not the blood boiling part, i'm working on the REMAIN CALM bit since I don't think I can use the redhead excuse forever.

The garden is planted. Mulched. And weeding has been continuous this Spring! But with the chiggers and heat setting in, I'm content with slowing down a bit. Now, to connect and enjoy nature. Remembering all that I'm grateful for and what truly matters. The loud sound of toads and the wild ducks visiting our farm layely naming a few.

This is a 4 year old pomegranate tree that I use for propagation. We got the chance to test some last year from that same tree, sweet fruit, pink flesh but the best part soft seeds 😀, but this year it start to reach maturity and will set a good amount of fruit as you can see. By year 10, it will reach prime time and can produce over 200 fruit per tree. All that said, I propagate and plant maybe 100 at the farm and still adding some every year without knowing for sure they will make a good crop. But this year I have a really good feeling about them 🥰
