To kickstart summer, we would like to celebrate our seven “Iron Jags”. Each of these student-athletes participated in 7 sports throughout this past school year, all while maintaining their grades and being involved in Fine Arts and outside school activities. This impressive achievement demonstrates careful planning, commitment, and a solid support system. Congratulations to Emika, Emma, Lenny, Logan, Luka, Matthew and Thomas! We are so proud of you!

To culminate a year of learning and growing, our 8th Grade Hospitality students made Graduation Cupcakes from scratch! 🧁🧁

This month, Jackson 7th graders visited The Alamo. We proudly participated in the grand opening of the new Texas Cavaliers Alamo Education Center. Students took part in re-enactments with living history actors, made crafts, and spent time learning and making memories with friends. 📓🐆🎬

Ms. Grona’s 8th Grade ELAR final projects include 2D and 3D creations of events, characters, and themes of the novels they studied. 📚✏️✂️📝

During a Special Board Meeting on Monday, May 18, the North East ISD Board of Trustees named Interim Superintendent Anthony Jarrett as the Lone Finalist for Superintendent.

“He has maintained a strong commitment to student success, academic excellence and community partnerships,” said Board President David Beyer. “We are confident that his leadership, experience, and vision will help guide our District forward, toward continued growth and opportunity for all staff students and families.”

Jarrett brings more than 25 years of experience in public education including six years with NEISD. He previously served as the District’s Chief Instructional Officer before being named Interim Superintendent in December of last year. Prior to joining North East ISD in 2019, Jarrett served as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent in Northside ISD.

Following the announcement, Jarrett shared his gratitude to the board and enthusiasm for this next chapter.

“Sitting in this role is a humbling experience,” said Jarrett. “The mindset of service first and self second is something that I fundamentally believe in. I think working alongside you guys, I know our District will continue to grow, get better and be one of the best districts in the country.”

Per state mandate, NEISD trustees must wait at least 21 days before officially voting to appoint Jarrett as our District’s newest Superintendent.
