For those visiting this page: I am happy to announce that I am pursuing my dream of going to law school! I just finished my first year, and have two more to go. This means that although I really enjoyed the time I had as a piano teacher, for now I will be on a new career path. I hope that sometime in the future I will be able to return to playing and teaching the piano. Thank you so much for your support and interest in McKenna Rammell Piano Studio! Today in lessons, several students learned about proper piano posture. Even at a young age, playing with good posture and technique is important. Knowing how to sit straight, adjust the bench, let go of tension, and learn to gently curve hands all help set the foundation for the future. Students will be equipped to handle difficult repertoire, create beautiful sound, and prevent injury. Learn proper piano technique with me today! Send my page a message for more information.

During evaluations and first lessons, I like to explore the piano with students. While exploring the piano with students, I have heard several funny ways they refer to parts of the piano. I thought I'd share some with you. One student referred to the damper pedal as the vi****or pedal, because it makes the notes "vibrate". Another student referred to the pedals as foot planks. She also said that the keys were Elsa straws! While trying to help a student say, "Sostenuto", she said, "Nostabrutal . . . . Sostanoodle!" We now call the middle pedal the sausage and noodles pedal.

A great first official day of piano lessons at the San Antonio studio! Thursday is turning out to be a full afternoon of students!
