Bringing back play-based centers in early childhood would greatly lessen these developmental challenges. Parents also need to provide more hands-on learning opportunities and greatly limit screens.

Teacher-led vs. child-led: The 🍎 printing activity that I chose to provide to Caroline lasted less than one minute. The free painting activity that she chose has lasted over 20 minutes and she’s still very invested. Children need choice and autonomy!
