๐๐Our rocketry team successfully launched their rocket at White Sands Missile Range! ๐๐
Though there were some challenges - the recovery system deployed early so it didn't travel as far as hoped- there is so much to be proud of and so much to learn from this year's rocket!
Congratulations & Mules Up for this AH-mazing team of students and their instructor Charles Wilson. ๐ด๐

โ๏ธ๐ Meet the talented young writers from The Junior School who have spent the week sharpening their craft at the annual Martha Spoor Young Writerโs Workshop! ๐
Throughout the week, students explored a variety of writing styles, stretched their creativity, and found new ways to tell their stories. Tomorrow, theyโll share their original work with family and friends as the culmination of their workshop experience. ๐๐๏ธ
First held in 2010, the workshop honors the legacy of Martha Spoor, an AHHS graduate and former English teacher. ๐๐
We can't wait to see where their words take them! โจ๐

Introducing Boomerang! ๐๐
Our AHHS rocketry program just unveiled the rocket theyโll be launching later this week at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico!
Theyโre one of only four teams with launch dates this year and the finished design represents thousands of hours of work designing, building and problem-solving with this AH-mazing group of now AHHS graduates!
Special thanks to Jersey Mike's for their support of the rocketry program with a fundraiser.

โจ Oh, the places theyโll go and the memories theyโll make! โจ Some of our adventurous 8th graders kicked off their summer with a trip to Washington DC & New York City!
๐ธ A huge shoutout to teachers Chandler Tadlock and Kevin Miller for leading the journey and sharing these AH-mazing memories with us! ๐๐
๐บ๐ธ "A group of AHJS 8th graders walked almost 40 miles in 5 days, exploring Washington, D.C., and New York City. Not through a textbook, but by standing where history actually happened.
Our students watched the Changing of the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery, walked through Mount Vernon, explored the Holocaust Museum, stood beneath the Statue of Liberty, took in the view from the Empire State Building, wandered through Ellis Island, reflected at the 9/11 Memorial, attended an award-winning Broadway show, and experienced the energy, noise, chaos, and wonder that make New York City one of a kind.
Along the way, history became a little more real. Government looked different when standing in our nationโs capital. Immigration felt more personal while walking the same halls millions of immigrants once walked. Arlington offered lessons in sacrifice. Ground Zero offered lessons in resilience."
