🔥🚒 Fire Prevention Week Fun! 🚒🔥

Our older infants got creative while learning about fire safety this week! ❤️🧡💛 Using colorful tissue paper, they created special fire-themed artwork while exploring different textures, strengthening fine motor skills, and expressing their creativity.

Activities like these help our little learners develop important skills through hands-on play while introducing age-appropriate concepts about community helpers and fire prevention. We love watching their curiosity grow as they learn through art!

Great job, friends! 🌟👶🚒

Kid's Cafe Thursday 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳🍓🍎🍌

🍎 This Week at Kid’s Café

This week at Kid’s Cafe, our young chefs learned how to wash their fruits and vegetables. The chefs enjoyed a hands-on activity with the hope that they will discover where some of that dirt came from: our gardens! 🌱

After washing our fruits and vegetables, we cut them up and made a delicious fruit salad with whipped cream. Yummy! 🍓🍎🍌

🔪 Knife Safety

Today’s lesson will introduce our chefs to the safe way to hold and use a knife. We will remind them that a knife is a “tool,” not a toy.

Our Golden Rule will be:

“Knife moves, eyes down. Food moves, knife down.”

They may even find themselves repeating it in their cooking dreams! 😊

We will practice holding the knife safely by keeping our arm steady and gripping the handle firmly. We will pretend that the end of the knife has “glue” on it so that it stays in place.

With the hand holding the food, we will make a “bear claw” to help protect our fingers. Then we will practice a gentle sawing motion while slowly moving the food toward the knife.

We call this the SAW Method! 🐻🔪
