The CREA Story

Hi! I'm Stephanie, the founder of CREA Curriculum + Consulting. CREA is the coalescing of my experience as a student, teacher, education consultant, & curriculum writer. In fact, I think it has been in the works since 3rd grade when my teacher put a box around my desk to keep me from staring out the window! That was the beginning of my very fraught relationship with school, one that I've been unraveling every since.

My story is both unique and common. It's the story of a creative, smart, and capable kid whose experience in school made her believe the opposite. What's different about my story is that it compelled me to teach, and to teach in ways that value every child for the unique gifts that they possess. I believe that every child is a creative, curious, and passionate learner, with limitless potential that too often goes untapped.

This belief motivated me to start CREA Curriculum + Consulting with the mission to grow the next generation of creative leaders across disciplines. Through our school programs and curriculum, kids make video games, launch businesses, organize social movement, and so much more! Our 8-pillar framework guides young people as the design and execute projects that are personally meaningful. In the process, the develop essential mindsets like adaptability, resourcefulness, and courage - and they begin exploring big questions like ‘who am I? what do I love? what impact do I want to have on the world around me?’
