3PD Artisan Leather Goods Creative handcrafted leather goods inspired by nature, art and functionality. Leather crafting is not just something I do, it means something to me.

My goal is to successfully project that in every piece I create. Even the name, 3 Parks Design, means something to me as it represents two family bonds - one between son and father - the other between husband and wife. My very first experience with leather working was in a junior high art class. When my husband reintroduced me to it - many years later - I discovered a true passion for working with

leather. After two college degrees and 12 years in retail sales and management, I realized that I could channel my education, work experience and love for art into one outlet. That outlet became 3 Parks Design, 3PD in 2014, but I've been hooked on leather crafting since 2010.

Working on this latest batch of bags (coming soon to Guadalupe Trading Co. ) , I saw the perfect opportunity to share a little and education. Hand skiving is important when working with thicker leathers and layers that overlap for a few reasons.

🍃 Your future self will thank you when running those areas through your sewing machine later.
🍃 The junctions look cleaner on the finished item.
🍃 If you're flipping it right side out after stitching, it will make it a little easier.

It is scary because at any second, no matter your practice or skill level, you can gouge out the leather and ruin the whole thing 😬. In my humble experience. But the details matter!

I almost forgot to post this ya'll! These are the last of the "Impressions of Monet" bag collection now available in at The ARTitude Cottage . All compact in size for those who prefer to carry just the essentials but want to do it in style still 😊. I absolutely love how the straps turned out for the first two pictured - best seen in person 😍.

Slide 1: One of my personal favorite patterns I have designed, which I named after my niece (nicknamed LeeLou). I carry the same style myself! Holds up to six credit cards in front slots with two compartments for cash/checkbook and a phone, divided by a zipper pocket. Features the most secure bag fastener I had ever come across and an easy slide adjustable crossbody strap.

Slide 2: Classic boxy compact purse with a chic curved top. Phone slip pocket on the back with snap closure for quick access. An otherwise simple open compartment with a small zipper pocket inside. Main compartment snaps closed. Same easy slide adjustable crossbody strap. Check out that beautiful backdrop artwork by Tracy Murphy !

Slide 3: Its a tiny but fiercely convenient phone purse. Main compartment large enough for a cased phone with plenty of room to spare and an oversized snap pocket on back for at least three stacked cards and/or folded cash. Can switch between a wristlet or buckle adjustable crossbody strap for carry.

A simple project that is bringing me joy right now. Towel holders - yep. I don't understand why. Maybe because it took me a bit to have that "ah-ha" moment with the design to keep it all made out of leather. Maybe because it speaks to my interior design brain.
