⛳️ New Game Alert in PE! 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️

Our 3rd–5th grade students have been busy learning Birdie Ball in PE class! They're getting a hands-on introduction to golf fundamentals—focusing on grip, swing path, and target accuracy.

It’s been incredible to see their focus, coordination, and big smiles as they hit their targets! Way to go, upper elementary! 🌟👏

🔬✨ SCIENCE IS HAPPENING IN THE LIBRARY! ✨🔬

This week, our K–3 students had a blast learning all about STATES OF MATTER! 🧊💧💨

🌟 Kindergarten & 1st Grade practiced identifying solids, liquids, and gases with fun matching activities.

🐷🏠 2nd Grade read What’s the Matter with the Three Little Pigs? and explored the properties of matter while putting their thinking skills to work!

🔎👀👃✋ 3rd Grade became little scientists! They used their investigation skills and their senses to describe objects and discover their different properties.

💧💨 And Kindergarten got a special science demonstration from Ms. Allen! She brought in her humidifier to help students see how water can represent the three states of matter—solid, liquid, and gas!

📚🧪 Who says science can’t happen in the library?! We’re learning, investigating, and having FUN! 💙✨

NEISD is closely monitoring weather forecasts and local conditions. 🚌🌧️

Due to the potential for flooding and possible unexpected road closures, our school bus drivers will exercise extra caution to ensure student safety. This may result in delays or adjusted routes. The safety and well-being of our community remain our highest priority.

We appreciate your patience and encourage everyone to use caution when traveling in affected areas. Please check the NEISD website at neisd.net and follow social media channels regularly for real-time announcements and updates.

🧲🥣 Science in action! 5th graders pulled iron right out of Total cereal using a magnet! 🤯

This experiment showed that cereal is a mixture because the iron keeps its magnetic properties and can be separated from the cereal.

🧲✨ Way to go, 5th Grade! You’re making science happen! 👏🔬

Join Our Campus Library Advisory Committees!

We are seeking parents to serve on our Campus Library Advisory Committees, a group that convenes only in the event of a formal request to reconsider library materials. Members work with the campus librarian and campus staff to review the request and provide input as part of the district’s established collection development policy. This committee includes campus administration, faculty members, parents, and our librarian/LIEL.

Selected members will be required to view a short training video. If you are interested, please submit this application by October 9th!
Much Appreciated!!!

📚✨ Learning About Historical Figures! ✨📚

Our 2nd graders became history detectives! 🔎 They learned about Dolores Huerta, Ruby Bridges, and Greta Thunberg using books and library resources to gather information. 📖

Then, they used technology to record what they learned on their iPads! 🎤📱 We loved seeing our students research, learn, and share their knowledge! 🌟

We mixed, we sorted, and we snacked! 🥨🍫🍿

Our 4th graders made snack mixtures and used physical properties like size, shape, color, and texture to separate them. Such a fun and yummy way to learn science! 🔬✨
