Week 19 Update 🚧

We’re 1 week closer to opening the doors!

Spray foam is almost finished and then we’ll start moving into the final stages of the build. We’re about a month & a half away from the grand opening, and we’re getting closer to having an actual date for y’all👀

Week 18 Update‼️

We’re getting closer! The electrical rough is wrapped up, all the louvers are installed and the mini splits are roughed in and ready for the next phase.

Spray foam starts this week, then we can really start moving on to the finish out! After that, it’s turf, cages, baseball equipment and getting this place ready to train with y’all!👀

Week 15 Update‼️

The stadium lights are in! Plumbing rough-ins are complete, and HVAC should be finished by our next update.

Last week’s rain delayed the landscaping and outdoor turf area, but work is set to start this week.

We’re getting closer and closer to opening the doors, and we can’t wait to share the finished product with all of you!!

Please join us in welcoming Garrett Gruell to the One Percent Baseball and South Texas Tribe family as our newest Training Instructor & Team Coach!

Garrett brings an outstanding playing résumé and a passion for developing the next generation of athletes. Throughout his collegiate career, he appeared in 209 games, recording 248 hits, 58 home runs, 208 RBIs, while posting a .343 batting average, .422 on-base percentage, and .666 slugging percentage across stops at Murray State College, Texas A&M–Corpus Christi, and UTSA.

His experience competing at the highest levels of college baseball, combined with his work ethic and leadership, makes him an incredible addition to our coaching staff.

Garrett is committed to helping players grow both on and off the field by building confidence, refining their skills, and developing a championship mindset.
We’re excited for our athletes to learn from someone who has competed at an elite level and is passionate about giving back to the game.

Hard work pays off if you’re consistent with it. Our RFD lifter Blake FIKES getting after it this summer with a bomb to start the weekend off right.
If you put the effort in, results are going to follow.

If you’ve ever heard Freddie Freeman talk about hitting he prioritizes 2 major things.

Number 1: Staying through the zone as long as possible to cover multiple pitches

Number 2: Not pulling off the baseball via over rotating, swinging too hard, coming out of posture

Freddie’s BP approach: “I want to try to hit soft line drives over the shortstop.”

The whole premise behind these 2 major things is getting the lower body to stop in order to be able to deliver the barrel through the middle of the field.

If you watch his front foot when he swings it’s resisting being opened.

The more you open, the more you rotate, if you over swing you increase the likelihood of you pulling off of the ball & losing zone coverage.

The electrical rough is in and we’re getting closer every week.

Next up: HVAC, plumbing and work on the driveway, parking lot and landscaping as things continue to come together.

Week 13 Update🚧

One thing we’re really excited about this week is getting our oak tree back from the kiln. It was the original tree on the property and instead of letting it go to waste we’re turning it into our bar top and desks so it’ll always be part of One Percent Baseball. Every week this place starts looking more and more like home to us and we can’t wait to share it with y’all!

Ft. Kalan Halvorson

For the past six years we’ve had the opportunity to watch Kalan grow as both a player and the person he is today. Seeing him earn the opportunity to continue his career at Clarendon College has been rewarding and we’re grateful to have been part of that journey.
