🎻 Reflecting Back, Looking Ahead 🎻

Another incredible year for our Winston Churchill High School Orchestra came to a close, and we want to take a moment to highlight the impact of our Churchill Orchestra Booster Association (COBA).

Because of our members and volunteers, we were able to create so many enriching and meaningful experiences for our musicians this year — from memorable events and awards, to scholarships and behind-the-scenes support.

✨ And yet, while we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, there’s so much more we can do — together.

Historically, our COBA membership has averaged only about 25% of orchestra households. If we want to offer even more support to our students and directors — opportunities, experiences, and resources that can truly elevate their musical journey — it will take more of us recognizing the value of this program and demonstrating that recognition through monetary or volunteer support.

There will be many opportunities to contribute, beginning this summer!

This week, we’re celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week—and there’s no way we could let it pass without giving a huge shoutout to Mr. Thibodeaux.

If you’ve ever seen the Churchill Orchestra in action, then you’ve seen the heart, the hours, and the high standards our head director pours into our students. He doesn’t just teach music—he builds a culture of discipline, pride, and deep care.

From before-school rehearsals to late-night events, from quiet encouragement to fierce advocacy—he shows up—again and again.

Thank you, Mr. Thibodeaux, for everything you give to these kids. You’ve made an impact that reaches way beyond the stage. 🫶🏻🙏🏻👏🏻
