I used to think my relationship with God was like a performance review. đ
If I had a "good" weekâread my Bible, was patient with my family, didn't lose my temperâI felt like I could stand tall. But if I failed? Iâd put on the mask. Iâd pretend I was okay while feeling like a complete fraud on the inside.
I was living on a "treadmill of performance," and I was exhausted.
In my latest episode of A Cup of Freedom, we talk about why that mask is so heavy and how GRACE is the only thing that can finally take it off. It's not about being a "fixed-up sinner"; it's about being a brand-new creation.

Are you living on an Identity roller coaster based on your performance?
Your identity doesn't change based on your "Good Days" or "Bad Days." đđ
When youâre in the Performance Trap, your identity is tied to your behavior.
Good Day? You feel proud, superior, and "right with God."
Bad Day? You feel worthless, hidden, and "disqualified."
The Freedom Truth is that In Christ, your identity is Fixed. You aren't a "failure" when you stumble, and you aren't a "superstar" when you succeed. You are a son or daughter. A child doesnât lose their last name because they tripped and fell.
Your identity is defined by the Fatherâs love, not your latest track record.
You can let go of checking your "score" and start resting in your reality as His much loved sons and daughters. You are loved, period. đ

Let go of measuring your worth based on your performance and trust God's view of your worth as His much loved sons and daughters

Are you exhausted from trying to keep up with a version of Christianity that feels like a heavy weight? đ
Performance-based living says: 'If I do better, God will love me more.'
Freedom in Christ says: 'Because God loves me, I can live free'.
One leads to a 'grit' that eventually runs out. The other leads to a 'grace' that never ends. Jesus didnât come to give you a longer to-do list; He came to give you new life. His Life. đď¸
You can let go of trying to impress a Father who is already deeply in love with you. Trade that heavy yoke for His light one today. You are freer than you know.
Comment 'FREE' if you are choosing Grace today!

I used to think overcoming addiction was about being 'better.' I was trying to perform my way out of a pit.
But grace isnât a reward for good performance; itâs a gift to be received. â¨
If you belong to Christ, your name is not 'addict,' 'failure,' or 'lost cause.' Your identity is beloved, forgiven, and redeemed.
Today, let go of fixing your eyes on your performance and fix your eyes on Jesus. âď¸. Anchor to His Grace, because He is enough.
2 Corinthians 12:9 - 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'

You aren't fighting for freedom; you are learning to live from it.
This is for the person who feels like they are on a spiritual treadmillâconstantly running but never feeling "free enough."
Most of us live our lives feeling like weâre on trial. We wake up feeling like we have to "win" Godâs approval, "earn" our peace, or finally "defeat" our struggles before we can truly rest.
But here is the life-changing shift: In Christ, the victory is already yours.
You aren't a soldier trying to win a war; you are a child of the King standing on ground that has already been conquered. When you fight for victory, youâre driven by fear of failure. When you live from victory, youâre driven by the power of love.
How does your day change when you realize:
đď¸ You donât have to "get free"âHe already set you free.
đď¸ You donât have to "become worthy"âHe already called you worthy.
đď¸ You donât have to "reach the finish line"âHe already said, "It is finished."
Today, stop the striving. Take the seat He has prepared for you at His table. Your rest isn't a reward for your hard work; it's the foundation for your whole life.
Type "REST" in the comments if youâre ready to stop fighting for what you already have.

Freedom is not something you try to attain, go after, or fight for. Christ has already set you free. Free is who you are in Him.

Stop trying to prove what God has already provided. đď¸
We spend so much energy trying to "earn" our way into a feeling of worthiness. We think if we can just have a string of good days, weâll finally be "right" with God.
But the Gospel says something different: Your identity is a gift to be received, not a goal to be reached. You aren't a project that God is frustrated with; you are a child He is delighted in.
Today, your only "focus" is to believe that He actually likes youâright where you are. You are not someone to be fixed, but someone to be loved.
Take a deep breath. You don't have to perform today. You just have to be.

God's Grace to you is freedom in Christ. Nothing for you to earn, strive for, or pay. All yours by faith.

Many times our feelings deceive us into thinking we are not free in Christ. We can be deceived into believing a lie. You may not "feel" free, but in Christ, God says you are.
This doesn't mean we won't have struggles with sin. We will. But we can respond in a completely new way. If we know that we are truly free in Christ, we will move in that direction. But if we feel as if it's not true, we will still be trying to get something we already have.
As saints in Christ, sure you have the freedom to choose to sin or not. But YOU ARE FREE! The very life of Christ is now in you, giving you new desires to say no to sin and live victoriously.
Make this new year the year that you rest and depend on what Christ has already accomplished in you. It's not about trying harder. It's about TRUSTING HIM. That is the freedom journey.
