Families, remember: a 504 Plan should support your child’s access to learning. If your child is still failing or struggling, you have the right to request a meeting, review what is not working, and ask for changes.

Sometimes the plan needs stronger accommodations. Sometimes the team needs to look deeper and consider whether additional testing or an IEP evaluation is needed. The goal is not blame — the goal is making sure your child has the right support to be successful.

Principal Janelle Hardin, Ashley Merino (Kindergarten Teacher), and Amy Leonard (ARD Facilitator) make up an outstanding IEP Team! You can truly feel the sense of family and teamwork in the way they support one another and care for their students. Their collaboration, compassion, and commitment to doing what is best for kiddos does not go unnoticed. It’s always refreshing to work alongside a team so invested in making sure students and families feel heard, supported, and valued. Well done, ladies!

I also truly enjoyed working with this entire IEP team. Principal Delgado, Kelly Barrett, ARD Facilitator, Special Education Teacher–ECSE Elizabeth Benoit, and everyone involved showed such care and investment in supporting this kiddo.
