Our orchestra students represented the program well this week at the UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation. We are proud of the dedication, preparation, and musical growth each ensemble demonstrated on stage.

Sub Non-Varsity Orchestra earned a Division II in Concert and Division II in Sightreading, showing great effort and continued progress as they develop their ensemble skills.

Non-Varsity Orchestra also earned a Division II in Concert and Division II in Sightreading, reflecting the hard work and focus they have put in throughout the semester.

Varsity Orchestra performed with strong musicianship, earning a Division II in Concert and Division I in Sightreading, demonstrating their ability to quickly analyze and perform new music at a high level.

UIL Concert & Sightreading is about growth, discipline, and the courage it takes to step on stage and perform for judges. We are proud of our students for their commitment to the process and for representing our program with class.

The work continues, and we are excited to keep building and growing together as a program.

The Wagner Varsity Orchestra visited the six elementary schools that feed into Wagner this past Wednesday and Thursday. We showed them the different instruments, played some fun music, and had an amazing time! Here’s to the awesome kids, teachers, and administrators at Woodlake ES, Paschall ES, Hopkins ES, Escondido ES, Masters ES, and Candlewood ES! 🎻🎶🎵🎹

The Wagner Varsity Orchestra had the opportunity to be an in-house field trip for CrossRoads Christian Academy on Monday. We showcased the instruments, played some fun music, and had a blast! Thanks for having us!

🎉🎉Congratulations to Darrious Hodge, Senior Violinist 🎻at Wagner HS! Darrious recently auditioned for the Texas Music Educators Association Region 11 Mariachi. He earned 3rd chair out of 9 accepted into the top Mariachi. Way to represent JISD! 🎉🎉👏👏🎶🎵

The Wagner Orchestra Competed in the Buccaneer Classic Festival in Corpus Christi last Friday, May 9th. They earned Superior ratings, and Outstanding Performance. In addition, Senior Monica Padron and Juniors Lydia Gomez and Andrea Mercado-Rivera earned Outstanding Soloist Medals. Congratulations!

Congratulations to the Wagner Orchestras for their performances at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation.

The Varsity Orchestra earned Superior ratings in both concert and sight-reading, which is the highest score you can receive.

The Junior Varsity Orchestra earned Excellent ratings on stage and Superior in sight-reading, and the Intermediate Orchestra earned Good Ratings on stage and Excellent in Sight-Reading. 🏆🎻🎶🎵🎉
