Tomorrow is the first day of school!

Our teachers, bus drivers, campus staff, child nutrition teams, custodians, police officers, and administrators are excited to welcome students back for another incredible year.

As you head out Monday morning, please help us start the year safely:

Leave a few minutes earlier than usual.
Expect heavier traffic around schools and bus routes.
Slow down in school zones and watch for students walking and biking.
Review the school bus safety graphic below and remember to stop for flashing red bus lights as required by law.
Most importantly, extend a little grace. The first week is about helping thousands of students safely settle into new routines.

By the end of the week, traffic will ease, routines will become familiar, and everyone will find their rhythm.

Every August, our community comes together to help nearly 12,000 students begin the school year safely. Thank you for doing your part to make tomorrow a great first day for every East Central ISD student.

East Central ISD families can track their student's bus in real time with the Here Comes the Bus app. Receive push notifications, view your child's bus location, and access information from your smartphone, tablet or computer.

2026-2027 ECISD Bus Schedules Are Now Available!

Families can now view their student's general education bus stop information, including pickup and drop-off times, by visiting:

Before searching, please remember:
• Enter your house number and street name only for the best results.
• Have students at their assigned bus stop at least 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
• If your student is assigned a DTD (Door-to-Door) stop, please have them waiting at the end of your driveway where the driver can safely see them.

Important for the 2026-2027 school year:

1. With the opening of Victory Elementary School and Valor Middle School, several attendance boundaries have changed. Please review your student's bus information carefully.

2. Salado Leadership Academy and Pecan Valley STEM Academy students who live in the Tradition, Oak Crest, Salado and Harmony attendance areas will ride an Oak Crest bus before shuttling to their campus. Afternoon transportation will follow the same process in reverse.

3. Families with Heritage students who live north of U.S. Highway 87 East to the district boundary will now attend Valor Middle School.

4. Special Needs transportation routes are still being finalized. Families receiving Special Needs transportation will be contacted by ECISD staff with route information as the first day of school approaches.

Please allow extra time during the first few weeks of school as routes are finalized and adjusted to safely transport every student.

We will be here till 6pm to offer assistance for new and returning student registration: Come by if you need help registering your student.
