Students from Gilbert Elementary took part in the 7th Annual Dia De Los Mu***os Celebrando Las Misiones.

Students read their original poetry in both English and Spanish. A special thank you to their teacher Mrs. Sandoval.

Exciting news for Harlandale ISD 4th graders! Thanks to a special partnership with the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, every 4th grader received a park pass in September. This pass allows these students and their families to explore all the amazing national parks in the United States for FREE.

The delivery of the passes was made by National Park Ranger Arianna. She visited each school and took our students on a virtual field trip to some of the most beautiful parks in the country. They learned about the Junior Ranger program and even discovered the world's largest tree by volume, the Sequoia!

We still have spots open for two of our one-of-a-kind Summer experiences for the current 7th through 11th-grade students!

Students can choose from:

Immersing themselves into the world of filmmaking and audio-video production in partnership with TRL Productions and KSAT

or

Soaring into the skies in our Drone Soccer Camp, brought to you by St. Mary's University.

Today was the HISD district-wide Elementary Science Fair. Campus winners from all nine elementay schools attended a field trip at our HISD Makerspace. Students took part in stations hosted by Girls Inc., Doseum, UTSA, HISD GT and Instructional Technology.

30 District winners will be announced this evening at 6pm at the Harlandale High School auditorium.

Our district Instructional Technology Facilitators have been on a mission to bring the latest and greatest tech tools to our schools! 💻

Teachers are loving the opportunity to stop by, learn new skills, get some cool swag, and discover innovative ways to boost student engagement. 🎉

The 3rd-grade students of Gillette Elementary School recently embarked on an unforgettable journey through time at Mission San Jose.

Immersed in interactive stations, our young explorers transformed into history detectives, uncovering the secrets of the past and gaining a profound appreciation for our rich and diverse heritage.

Through hands-on activities and engaging storytelling, the park rangers brought history to life, igniting a spark of curiosity and a passion for learning that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.

Elementary educators were invited to start their morning by taking part in hands on stations conducted by the Alamo.

They then had a field learning experience at Mission San Jose and Mission San Juan where they were able to visit an agricultural farm and working acequia.

Every 4th grade student in HISD will be receiving a free National Park pass through their Every Kid Outdoor Program. This pass will allow students and their families to enter all national parks at no cost.
