UNDERSTANDING YOUR POSTURE ♾
Our posture is NOT a passive phenomenon like we’ve been led to believe
Our posture (some side views depicted here) can be PREDICTIVE to many things BEYOND just our structural/anatomical state.
To a trained eye, it can also show us about pain, trauma, patterns, self-esteem etc…
Resting posture is a inedible tool to help us determine our physical health. (We’re at rest, but we should STILL be engaged!)
Active posture (dynamic movements) is essentially the same thing, but tends to HIGHLIGHT what dysfunctions we are currently experiencing to a greater degree.
Structurally speaking—we actually have TWO supports systems ➡️ the SOFT (connective tissue, fascia) & HARD skeleton (bones)
It’s a constantly ADAPTING state we’re continually in—as our bodies continuously look to create an optimal internal environment (homeostasis) for our past & projected demands
While we’ve been led to believe that our bones 🦴 are what’s holding us up… New research 🔬 into connective tissue has led us to believe the OPPOSITE. Bones are more like ‘spaces’, while your connective tissue is what makes your SHAPE & STRUCTURE. 🍑
This is great news—because these can CHANGE with the RIGHT inputs CONSISTENTLY…
To a better future 🗣

There’s little room for excuses when you INVEST in yourself 🤷🏾♂️
I’m a firm believer that opportunity comes into
our lives for us to determine whether or not
we’d like to MOVE forward in a certain direction
Recently I was able to attend a NKT seminar in Atlanta (OBVIOUS opportunity there 📍) and was positively challenged.
It was so refreshing to be able to attend a seminar IN-PERSON (kinesthetic leaner here 🤓) and interact with people from across the country that, like myself, are looking to IMPROVE their skill set & help clients in a more profound and comprehensive way.
My anatomical 🦴 and bio-mechanical ⚙️ knowledge put to the test and practically applied. It’s like a gained +50 skills points. 🎮
Yes these things can be unnerving—but I’ve found that our mindset going into things is key.
Often times we expect ourselves to be perfect when it comes things we are going for the first time, because if we’re not perfect, we aren’t WORTHY… Right? 🥲
WRONG.
It’s funny how that belief carries so much weight mentally, but when communicated, sounds just ridiculous 😂
Prepare accordingly. ✅
Have your own back. ✅
Know that things will be OK regardless of the outcome(s) ✅

🙋♂️OUR HIERARCHY OF NEEDS 🎚
This is Maslow’s hierarchy of needs—referencing to our biopsychosocial (biological, psychological, social/sociological) desires within our lives and how they are GENERALLY prioritized in human beings.
This is a GREAT reference to use for our lives, since this can be a tool to TRULY become more INTEGRATED and HEALTHIER versions of ourselves. True development is DEPENDENT on this.
Again—we ALL have a blueprint for EXCEPTIONAL health. 🧬
The Dis-ease(s) that we generate in our lives should be understood and viewed as ADAPTATIONS to whatever we’ve experienced on a relatively consistent basis.
When referencing this brilliantly illustrated pyramid 🔼 you will see that our PHYSIOLOGICAL needs are at the BASE.
Yet… I see so much neglect of our own physiology… Whteher it come to nutrition, lack of movement, drugs, alcohol, sleep, rest, exercise… And it’s wreaking HAVOC.
In this life, we CANNOT ignore the FACT that we are biological creatures 👨🏫 so our lifestyle must reflect how we can optimize this, and THEN we can begin to meet & fulfill our loftier needs & desires 🧠
No EGO likes to start at the bottom… But one cannot build a STRONG, ROBUST and RESILIENT house without a concrete foundation 🏠

Addressing Imbalances—BEFORE 😬 ➡️ AFTER 😮💨
We are NOT perfectly aligned beings 100% of the time… And this is OK (as a perfectionist this is a big humbling pill for an Ego to swallow)
It’s easy to get caught up the in LOOK of perfection in the fitness and wellness world… Because appearances DO communicate (to a certain degree) our health status.
Here I’m assisting a client that has a history of back pain—helping to RELIEVE her imbalances will to give her NERVOUS system a better picture for interoception & better proprioception in important patterns such as Gait 🚶🏾♀️
Getting tangible feedback like this is IMPORTANT. What’s more important is she’s feeling more ‘balanced’.
Improving our biomechanics is simply another PIECE in a comprehensive puzzle 🧩 on solving issues with PAIN, and regaining our innate health blueprint.

Achieving SUSTAINABLE CHANGE in LIFE 🧐
Change ISN’T easy.
Dealing with our past behaviors and decisions may not be easy.
Although, they do define us to a CERTAIN degree, our past is NOT the totality of our being.
We tend to identify with our past because they are decisions that have been ‘solidified’ in TIME.
The key to change it to CONTINUE to strive FORWARD, using the PRESENT moment.
Yes, time can get pretty meta…
But we’ve gotten so caught up in this ABSOLUTIST (‘all or nothing’) mentality when it comes to our assessing who we are.
We are MUCH more nuanced, and our reflections of our past should address that.
Acknowledging & accepting… Our MOTIVATIONS, our DESIRES, our EXPERIENCES, our LEVEL OF CONSCIOUSNESS
These should ALL be taken into consideration. Giving ourselves a OUNCE of grace (talking about us perfectionists here 😅). We have a lot going on 😂
At NO point, should we become VICTIMS of our own PAST. Reliquinshing our accountability and agency to mere circumstances.
We MUST continue to LEARN, and humbly STRIVE for BETTER, than the keys 🔑 to the game of LIFE will be presented 🎁

What can Cryotherapy teach us about life? 🤔 ⬇️
These are some thoughts I’ve gotten reflecting on my experience with cold exposure 🥶 through cryotherapy ❄️ 👇🏾
▫️ Discomfort DRIVES adaptation
▪️Hot or Cold… We have the innate physiological ability to regulate ourselves (on various levels!)
▫️A state of non-thought helps to reveal the true nature of the things AROUND us
▪️Our physiological state(s) can PRODUCE resonant thoughts and actions ➡️ fight or flight // rest & digest
▫️ Taking true care of your body WILL pay dividends in the short & LONG term
▪️ Instilling the right philosophies & unlearning discordant ones is a YOUNG mind’s duty and responsibility
▫️ Things can SUCK, be ENJOYABLE and be BENEFICIAL all in the same time… Don’t constantly avoid them 🥲
We are our biggest ENEMY and our own greatest ALLY. Which will you decide to become, cultivate, and sustain? Working ‘with’ ourselves is one of the most powerful tools available as conscious and aware beings—inversely we have the same power to bring dysfunction and damage. Choose wisely. 🤲🏾
