🏀⚽ What a GREAT Saturday for Poe Sports! 🐯🧡🖤

Our Lady Tigers Basketball and Boys Soccer teams kicked off their seasons today, and our Tigers came ready to compete!

🏀 8th Grade Lady Tigers vs. Longfellow • B Team: Poe 17 – 7 Longfellow
• A Team: Poe 36 – 4 Longfellow

Great performances by all of our athletes to bring home the wins!

🏀 7th Grade Lady Tigers at Longfellow • A Team: Poe 35 – 0 Longfellow

• B Team: Came up short, but showed great effort and determination!

⚽ 8th Grade Boys Soccer vs. Tafolla • Poe 6 – 0 Tafolla ⚽🔥

The 7th Grade Boys did not play because Tafolla did not have a team available.

What a way to start the season! We are so proud of all of our athletes for their hard work, teamwork, and effort. Keep it up, Tigers! 🐯💪🧡🖤

What an incredible first day of school!

Our students jumped right in today, learning about school expectations, attendance, and what it truly means to show school pride.
We also took time to celebrate some huge news: we officially earned a STAAR rating of 70! This achievement is a direct result of the tremendous work ethic, grit, and growth our students show every single day.
Right now, we are proudly ranked as the #2 middle school in the district, but we aren't stopping there... we’re aiming for #1!
With the continued support of our amazing students, staff, families, and community stakeholders, we know we can reach the top. Let’s make this school year our best one yet!

¡Qué increíble primer día de clases!

Hoy nuestros estudiantes se pusieron manos a la obra de inmediato, aprendiendo sobre las expectativas escolares, la asistencia y lo que realmente significa demostrar orgullo por nuestra escuela.
También nos tomamos un momento para celebrar una gran noticia: ¡oficialmente obtuvimos una calificación STAAR de 70! Este logro es el resultado directo de la tremenda ética de trabajo, la tenacidad y el crecimiento que nuestros estudiantes demuestran cada día.
Actualmente, ocupamos con orgullo el segundo puesto entre las escuelas de nivel intermedio (*middle schools*) del distrito, pero no nos detendremos ahí... ¡aspiramos al primer lugar!
Con el apoyo continuo de nuestros maravillosos estudiantes, el personal, las familias y los miembros de la comunidad, sabemos que podemos llegar a la cima. ¡Hagamos que este año escolar sea el mejor de todos

A huge thank you to all the amazing families who joined us yesterday evening for our Meet the Teacher & Community Resource Event! It was wonderful seeing everyone connect with local organizations, purchase fresh produce, stock up on school swag, and meet our incredible teachers.

We can't wait to welcome our students back! Here are two quick reminders for tomorrow morning:

First Annual Staff Back-to-School Kickball Game

On Wednesday, our Poe Tigers staff hit the field and took on Middle School ,SAISD and Middle School ,SAISD in the first annual Back to School Kickball Game!
Beyond the friendly rivalry, it was all about preparing for the upcoming school year and building camaraderie.
Building relationships doesn't stop within our school walls, it extends to our incredible colleagues across the district! It was an unforgettable evening filled with teamwork, school spirit, and plenty of fun. Not by chance, but by design.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to play, cheer, and support our team. Let’s bring this same energy into the new school year!

¡El miércoles, el equipo de los Poe Tigers salió al campo para enfrentarse a Middle School,SAISD y Middle School ,SAISD en el primer partido anual de kickball de regreso a clases!
Más allá de la rivalidad amistosa, el objetivo era prepararse para el próximo año escolar y fomentar el compañerismo.
¡Crear vínculos no se limita a las paredes de nuestra escuela, sino que se extiende a nuestros increíbles colegas de todo el distrito! Fue una velada inolvidable llena de trabajo en equipo, espíritu escolar y mucha diversión. No fue casualidad, sino algo planeado a propósito.
Un enorme GRACIAS a todos los que asistieron para jugar, animar y apoyar a nuestro equipo. ¡Llevemos esta misma energía al nuevo año escolar!
