Forgiving people who’ve hurt you and repenting for holding that anger and bitterness in your heart is an unbelievable cheat code for your mental, physical, and spiritual health. Being a believer and not forgiving people is how you block the blessing of forgiveness from our Heavenly Father. I recently read a book called Freedom From Soul Wounds and Demons: Your Breakthrough to True Peace & Joy — it helped open my eyes to how much darkness I was allowing in my life. Every day felt like rowing upstream. And because I’m a fan of hard work I didn’t realize that it wasn’t work. Actually, I was agreeing to allow the peace Jesus provides to be disrupted due to rampant unforgiveness. Being a lawyer and natural debater made it easy for me to justify my “righteous anger” towards people who’ve done me wrong. I had no idea the damage I was doing to myself. Now, I’m forgiving so many things. And so many opportunities to forgive are popping up. 🫠 Sometimes it’s really hard. Even with things that are trivial in the grand scheme of things. It feels good to be aggrieved when you’ve been done wrong. We’re told it’s part of the healing process. They say you should feel your big feelings for as long as you need to. But who is that serving, besides your spiritual enemy who wants you separated from your Heavenly Father?

The people in your life are mirrors.
What you see in you
is what you get from them.
If your kids don’t listen to you,
start with your fears about them not listening to you.
If the new business opportunities keep falling through,
consider the mindset of the person who does the most talking.
People can sense fear, disdain, lack of confidence, respect, and self-respect.
And it repels them.
If your friendships are one-way streets,
move on from the fear of not having friends,
and be okay with waiting for two-way street friends.
Also, consider whether you’re a two-way street friend.
Do you go out of your way to improve the lives of others?
Or do you just make those improvements at your convenience?
Are you passively taking without thinking?
Or worse, are you knowingly taking and giving nothing back that your friend(s) truly want?
(Many people who believe they are generous givers are actually just good at repurposing leftovers at the last minute. Sometimes it hits. But afterthoughts usually miss. An afterthought mindset makes you an afterthought in people’s minds.)
What you see about yourself in your mind is exactly what people see in you.
People will use what you show them as signals to draw closer to you, back away from you, or take advantage of you.
We just had a baby on December 4th. Wilhelmina is a tremendous blessing, just like her brother, Jude. Jude will be 18 months old in seven days, and he's starting to tap into some super intense toddler energy. I'm here for it, no matter what. In this 2 am recording, I talk about the spiritual struggle that I see this as and my spiritual approach. It's not for everyone with a toddler, but it actually is for everyone. We're called to sing God's praises during the good times and during the most terrifying and confounding times. And I'm happy to report that it works better than any alternative you can come up with. The perfectionist lawyer in me wants to apologize for not making this video perfect and easy to digest for distracted and busy viewers, but I am also distracted and busy, so I will not apologize. I will say that this is rough, but it's worth your time if you have a toddler or know one. Actually, if you have a kid that's any age, it's worth your time. Also, please go to on YouTube and subscribe if you want more content like this. Thanks!

Does the way you allow your friends and extended family members treat you align with behavior you want your kids to imitate? This is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself as a parent because your kid not only watches how you treat people, but they're watching how you allow others to treat you. Kids need to see their parents model how healthy friendships work. If you're compromising on your family's brand out of fear of losing a friendship, it won't be long before your kids are doing the same.
