At Ruth’s learning groups, we believe teachers should be free to teach each student in the way they lean best. No teaching to tests.

I’m sharing with my daughter Rachel Dvorak. Before she met her Husband she had something called the book store test. Before she got really serious about dating someone she would suggest they go to a bookstore. If he was able to entertain himself by wandering the shelves and finding interesting books or talking about the different books they both saw, she knew that he was boyfriend material. If he just seemed bored or wanted to leave, she knew the relationship wasn’t going to work. For their third date, my daughter’s now husband invited her to Barnes & Noble without knowing anything about her bookstore test. She says that’s when she knew he was the one.

My dad is now in a wonderful home with 24/7 care. God is so good to provide this amazing home for him. My daughter and niece got to visit today and sing to him. Praying for healing so that he can sing with us.

For anyone interested, I will be offering tutoring during the school year. Wednesday and Thursday nights at 5pm at the Semmes Library. I will also offer tutoring on Saturdays starting at 11. Please message me if interested.

The education system in our country is in critical need of an overhaul. As a teacher who has taught in Public Education, Charter Schools and Home school, I have many insights into what I believe is needed. Parents need to know that they have the ultimate choice in determining how their child should be educated. Parents need to consider all the pros and cons of different styles of education. They also need to understand how their child learns and what would best suit their child's learning styles.
