At the International Doula Life Movement Institute (IDLM), we have always believed that becoming an End-of-Life Doula requires more than reading a textbook or completing online modules. Through our partnership with Holistic Haven Personal Care Home, students, graduates, apprentices, and interns have the opportunity to witness what person-centered care truly looks like. They learn how to sit bedside, support families, engage in meaningful conversations, provide companionship, honor life stories, and understand the importance of meeting people where they are.

These experiences help bridge the gap between education and practice, allowing students to gain valuable hands-on learning while being guided by experienced professionals who are actively doing this work every day.

One of the things that makes Holistic Haven so unique is our partnership with the International Doula Life Movement Institute (IDLM).

As a teaching and mentoring care home, we welcome IDLM students, graduates, interns, and apprentices from across the United States who come to learn what compassionate, person-centered care truly looks like in practice.

Our residents are not simply cared for—they are surrounded by a community of individuals dedicated to bringing comfort, companionship, dignity, and connection.
