🌻Boss’s Day🌻

Today is National Boss’s Day and we are so thrilled to celebrate the most fabulous boss of Lone Star, Mrs. Sutton!

Here are some things her staff had to share about her:

💖 She is the perfect definition of firm but fair, beyond her dedication to the rules, she is an amazingly caring person and wonderful human being who genuinely listens and supports me.

💖 Thank you for your leadership dedication and the positive impact you make on our campus every day.

💖 Mrs Sutton leads with both encouragement and accountability, and I appreciate having a principal who wants both her teachers and students to succeed.

💖 I appreciate how she sets high expectations and provides us with the support to meet the expectations. It drives me to become a better teacher for our students!

💖 She is considerate of my feelings, takes my concerns seriously, and genuinely values my perspective as a professional. I appreciate that she makes me feel heard, respected, and trusted in my expertise, even when I need to vent before I can return to my regularly scheduled professionalism. She leads with understanding, gives me room to be human, and makes me feel like my voice matters.

Mrs. Sutton, we are so grateful to have a principal who leads with purpose and inspires others to do their best. Thank you for everything you do for our Lone star family!

This week, our 8th grade Career Pathway students got the opportunity to learn all about the Central High School ROTC program and what opportunities are ahead for them in High School! They enjoyed participating in leadership and team building exercises.

We love you, Mrs. Sutton! 🤩💙🤍

📅Before They Were Principals…

Before LaTonia Sutton was principal of Lone Star Middle School, she was a middle school student whose favorite subjects were writing and English.

Ms. Hill was her favorite teacher, and one of Mrs. Sutton’s favorite middle school memories was a class trip to Busch Gardens. Outside the classroom, she was also involved in Girl Scouts.

Today, Mrs. Sutton says her favorite part of being a middle school principal is connecting with students and getting to see the world through their eyes.

💙 Happy National Principals Month, Mrs. Sutton!

Here are some sweet things her students shared about her:

🧠 “She helps us and takes time to explain things to us if her students don’t understand.”

📝 “She rephrases the question, she’s nice, and she’s very patient.”

🎥 “She makes everything more fun! She makes jokes like she references old fashioned TV stars!”

💖 “She’s awesome!”

Mrs. Maier, thank you for taking the time and effort to teach our students and explain things to them while making learning fun! You are a joy to your students and colleagues, and we appreciate everything you do!

✨Teacher Feature Friday✨

Ms. Salazar is our beloved ISS teacher! To protect student privacy, we will simply post the quotes her former students have shared about her:

⭐️ “What I love about her is she is very nice and understanding. She gives us advice and she is very funny.”

🪿“She’s a silly little goose but she stands on business!”

💙 “She expects us to do our work and stay quiet and respectful but she’s very nice.”

Ms. Salazar, you do a fantastic job forming relationships with our students so that they learn from their mistakes! Thank you for caring about our Texans in such a way that they know even if they take a wrong turn that’s not what defines them! We appreciate all you do!
