Dr. Gina Heep Shipley and Dr. Kinsey Hansen are excited to welcome a full roster of incoming first-year students in their Fall 2022 Freshmen Seminar course next month. Within this course designed to strengthen communication, critical thinking, and information literacy skills, Hansen & Shipley guide students through the process of making a positive impact in our world using the Social Change Model of Leadership.
This leadership model teaches our newest Rams that leadership is a collaborative, values-based process built on socially responsible, inclusive, and civil relationships. In past years, small groups of students have come together to address issues such as human trafficking; racial justice; foster care; sexual assault, harassment, and violence; gun violence; and access to healthcare. We are looking forward to what the newest members of our Ram Family choose to champion during this upcoming semester.

Volume 2 of ASU’s College of Education peer-reviewed journal, Educator Perspectives, was released this past week. The theme of this volume is “Lessons Learned from the Pandemic” and featured five exceptional articles written by many professors within ASU's College of Education, with the Administrative Leadership program coordinator, Dr. Kinsey Hansen, serving as an editor for the journal. We are proud of the high quality of this journal, as well as the strength of the scholarly voice our College of Ed is making within and beyond the confines of our programs, the college, the university, and the society we serve. Enjoy!
