Our JAG students have had an amazing couple of days serving our community.

Wednesday, they spent the day at the Water Into Wine Food Pantry, where they worked hard, met new people, and truly enjoyed serving together. It was such a meaningful experience and a great way to earn community service hours.

Water Into Wine Food Pantry is the largest food bank in Kentucky, providing food boxes, household items, and clothing to those in need. It is a vital resource for Magoffin County and we’re thankful we were able to serve alongside of them.

Today, we were grateful to return to the Senior Citizens Center to help with commodity day, continuing to serve and support members of our community. Our students always enjoy giving back and connecting with others.

Community service is such an important part of JAG and plays a vital role in teaching our students responsibility, communication, and the importance of giving back. We are so proud of their hard work.

Magoffin County JAG would like to thank Jennifer Perry from Marshall University and Matthew Patton, Air Force representative, for speaking with our students today.

Students had the opportunity to engage with both speakers, asking questions and demonstrating communication and listening skills. They gained valuable insight into postsecondary education and military career pathways.

We appreciate their time and willingness to share their experiences with our students.

What an amazing day at the Kentucky State Capitol!

JAG Career Association President Colby Ledesma and Vice President Bryceson Slone, had the opportunity to visit the Capitol and meet with Representative John Blanton.

Our students proudly represented Magoffin County while learning about leadership, government, and the impact young leaders can have in their communities.

We are so proud of Colby and Bryceson for representing Magoffin County JAG so well. It’s been a great day!

Our MCHS JAG students spent part of their day giving back to our community by picking up trash around our school campus.

Community service is an important part of the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program, and our students are learning that leadership means taking care of their community.

🎤 Mock Interviews

MCHS JAG students participated in mock interviews today to practice real-world job skills.

During the activity, students practiced introducing themselves, answering common interview questions, and demonstrating professionalism and confidence. These experiences help prepare them for future job opportunities and give them the skills they’ll need when entering the workforce.

Proud of our students for stepping out of their comfort zones and giving it their best!

Our Magoffin County High School JAG students had an incredible opportunity to visit Carl D. Perkins Vocational Training Center in Paintsville today!

During the visit, students learned about hands-on career training programs, workforce development opportunities, and pathways available to them after high school. Experiences like this help our students explore options for their futures.

In JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates), our mission is to equip students with employability skills, leadership development, and career readiness tools that prepare them for success beyond graduation. Field trips like this one allow students to see firsthand the many opportunities available right here in our region.

We are so proud of our JAG students for representing Magoffin County at the JAG KY Career Development Conference! These students worked hard preparing for their events and did an outstanding job competing at the state level.

🎉 Congratulations to Ella Arnett, who placed 3rd in Career Preparation! This is an incredible accomplishment, especially at such a young age, and we are so proud of her hard work and dedication.

We also want to recognize Colby Ledesma, who represented Magoffin County JAG in Prepared Speaking. Colby did a fantastic job presenting at the state competition and represented our program with confidence and professionalism.

Competing at state is a major achievement, and we are proud of both of these students for stepping up and challenging themselves. The future is bright for Magoffin County JAG! ⭐
