Did you know that Utah made a bid to Congress in 1971 to launch the space shuttle from the West Desert? While the shuttle never launched from here, some in Utah still believe the state could be host to a useful spaceport, and the state government is onboard.

DPS | Premium Carbon Fiber Skis Built in the USA
DPS is about the mystery encountered in a slide across deep snow. With its roots in high-performance powder culture, DPS has pioneered the use of aerospace carbon fiber and a sandwich construction to build skis that are lighter, stronger, and more powerful than conventionally-built skis. The fusion....

Join AIAA Utah on a tour of the The University of Utah Cosmic Ray Center in Delta, UT on October 16th! Please DM us if you wish to RSVP.
In 1991, the Fly's Eye cosmic ray observatory in western Utah observed the most energetic particle ever witnessed (the "Oh-My-God" particle), which seemingly violated the generally-accepted GZK speed limit for cosmic rays.
The Telescope Array observatory, the descendant of the Fly's Eye, recently observed the nearly as energetic "Amaterasu" particle. If those two discoveries were not enough, the James Webb space telescope has found what appear to be galaxies too far away to be explained by our current understanding of the formation of the universe.
Discover contributions to advancement of science in Utah. It’s a long drive, but an adventure worth your investment in time. Many thanks to University of Utah faculty and staff!
